LSU or Georgia?

You NEVER pull for UGA unless it benefits Tech. eg, Tech is ranked #3 and UGA is playing the #2 team in the country late in the season.

That's like asking me if I want the bullet in my eye or in my ear.

I could imagine situations wherein it would be rationally preferable for UGA to win a football game, but I just don't think I would have the ability to pull for them. I always want them to lose every game in every sport. It's very important to me. And I like it that way.

I would rather give UGA its 12th loss of the season than its first.

I have two favorite teams every saturday: Georgia Tech and whoever is playing UGA.

Tell me why I wouldn't favor UGA to win most of their games except for ours. It makes beating UGA much more awesome for us because we very well may have blown their season. It would be a pretty crushing moment to beat them at that point which can make our win all the more sweeter.

I don't and will never blatantly root for UGA. But do I fantasize about playing a winless UGA team every year? Hasn't crossed my mind yet.

One thing that would happen are the boat loads of bandwagon GATech fans that would emerge if UGA was awful and we were winning at least 75% of the games each season. Would you all mind the band wagoners?

Who am I rooting for???

I'll tell you...

Here's the glaring flaw in the "We want UGA to be undefeated when we beat them" argument, and some of you may want to brace yourself for it: We do not always beat them. Why in the hell do I want UGA to be in the NC hunt when we play them? Why would I want them to be in the NC picture every time they beat us, which is more than half the time? No thanks. Why in the hell would I have been PULLING for them to come back and beat Florida or Bama last year? Was anybody out there PULLING for them to come back and beat Alabama last year? Anybody?

To pull for UGA to win every non-Tech game is the same as pulling for UGA to be a good, confident, capable, stable, healthy, well-coached team. Why in the hell would you want that?

I am probably the only GT fan that hates LSU more than UGA. That is highly attributed to the fact that I grew up in Louisiana and not Georgia. I hate them both though. I just hate LSU more ... but it's splitting hairs. I won't be rooting for either of them. I hope they both lose every game.

I have trouble rooting for them even in this scenario. It would feel dirty and wrong. I may actually still pull for UGA to lose here.

In answer to the original post, LSU by a mile and then some. Am I supposed to hate LSU because we played poorly in the Peach Bowl?

I agree with you on this one. My mind would be pulling for the mutts, but my heart would be ecstatic if they still got blasted off the face of the earth.
