committed to them today. We will see if this becomes "official".

As I have reminded people...it is very difficult to beat the home team in recruiting...particularly when family pressure is there to stay home. To top it off, the big LSU DL commit this week reneged and is following Saban like a little puppy dog to Alabama.

It is also likely Lewis goes to his mothers alma mater...Oregon. Of course, if UCLA or SoCal had ever offered he would have ended up at his "home" school in LA.

This is a great class...Peters and Lewis would just be icing on the cake. Whatever happens just wish them well.

Man, we just can't finish strong with anything in football. Everything ends on a disappointing note.

Man, Peters was somebody who the staff thought was definitely ours to lose. He was definitely somebody we needed after the loss of Monroe

It sucks that Tech has to recruit so much out-of-state because of academics. I know of a good number highly rated recruits in Georgia that had interest in Tech but just couldn't make it academically, while ugag/auburn/florida have no problem taking them in.

Oh well, so goes the life of a Tech fan.

It's not a sure thing. Because as we all know message boards are usually full of sh!t, especially an LSU (whose fans make UGAy fans look like classy and respectable). Let's not get too dissappointed yet.

good grief....even if we do not sign another kid we have had the best year in recruiting for football that we have ever had.

We got arguably the two best TB's in GA...definitely the two best eligible TB's...Dwyer and Jones.
We got the best 2 DB's in GA...Burnett and Donley.
We got the top QB in GA....Nesbitt
We got the #1 OT in GA...Claytor (haven't had one of those...ever!)
We got the top QB in MI...Threet
We got the top DE in PA...Morgan
We got the #1 LB on our board for GA in Jefferson.

still...wah wah wah. You would think we were Florida, SoCal, or Texas the way some people talk.

If you come to a point where you don't want the program to be better than it currently is then you've given up.

If you come to a point where you whine about this year's recruiting class, I'd rather avoid your tailgate.

There's a difference between always wanting more and being disappointed in a great class because it isn't better.

Oh come on, juveduke. This isn't about not wanting the program to be better. This is about whining about the couple of misses versus being excited and positive about the tremendous group we have gotten commitments from thus far.

Of course I'm not counting on anything until all the LOIs come in.

EXACTLY....that is why I am happy with this class.

and look at history...the type of STUDENT-athlete that comes to GT typically does not wait until the last month. That is the way it has always been...and always will be.

I don't think anyone here is disappointed with the class. I couldn't be happier with the incoming class.

This thread isn't about the class as a whole.

I beg to differ...I ended the starting thread of this post with....This is a great class...Peters and Lewis would just be icing on the cake. Whatever happens just wish them well.

Bah, technicality :p But, still, I don't believe anyone in here has "whined" about the whole class.

Say you're a salesman having a record breaking year and you have a good chance of making one more major sale (and in turn make a little more money). If you don't get it are you not allowed to be a little disappointed for a brief period of time?

Well, I shouldn't exactly say why, but we're not on the hunt on Peters yet. I think he'll probably end up at LSU, but Tech's still a possibility.

BTW, Lewis has also committed to Oregon. I think he wanted to play RB and Tech obviously wasn't the place for that.

I am surprised that we don't have a fallback position for somebody out there that would normally be considered a solid Tech recruit.

Indications are that this will be a good class, but I don't like to get to high or low until I see them play live versus other college players.

The one thing that is disappointing is that, with the loss of Everson and indications that we will not get either Lewis or Peters, we will not sign our full allotment again even with the scholly restrictions.

That is why I didn't like us giving up on everyone else except Peters and Lewis, putting your eggs all in one basket is never good and it is about to bite us in the ass.

We wonder why we have depth problems it is because we never, EVER sign our full complement of scholarships. Hell this year we have restrictions and we might not even use them all.

There are preferred walk-on's that want, and deserve, scholarships next year like Durant Brooks and Andrew Smith. We still could end up with 79 in the fall.

Plus....you never know...LSU could still upset Peters...the possibility exists if they ask him to delay enrollment until January. I suppose Everson could also somehow convince us he is going to take his 2 foreign language classes...we will see.

Lewis just decided to go where his mom went...and lets face it...we are on the other side of the country from his family.

Brooks doesn't have a scholly?!! Honestly, we should have left one open just for that reason. The guy DESERVES it more than some we are recruiting. Ok, vent over.
