LSU Rivals board reporting that Peters...

Brooks doesn't have a scholly?!! Honestly, we should have left one open just for that reason. The guy DESERVES it more than some we are recruiting. Ok, vent over.

Every player is on one-year renewable scholarships. It is just typical that you always renew your "recruiting" players that were offered scholarships from year one. Spurrier did a house cleaning at SC when he came in....but that is rare. He hacked off the entire South Carolina High School Coaches Association...but quite frankly it seems he can afford to.

All that being said, "leftover" scholarships each year are typically given to players that came in as preferred walk-on's...particularly if they earned a starting spot. As long as they maintain that starting spot they are typically given the renewal.

Durant was on schollie last year because one was available and he earned a starting job.

It is looking good for him again this year.

Bah, technicality :p But, still, I don't believe anyone in here has "whined" about the whole class.

Say you're a salesman having a record breaking year and you have a good chance of making one more major sale (and in turn make a little more money). If you don't get it are you not allowed to be a little disappointed for a brief period of time?
Yes, you are allowed to be disappointed about that one that got away. But to be disappointed to the exclusion of any joy and recognition for the record breaking year is whining in my book.

But I think your analogy is a tick off. I like it but I would change it to be that you are having that record breaking year and you miss that last deal and that your BOSS expresses only disappointment about that last one that got away instead of recognizing the awesome year you had.

By the way, juveduke, I hope you don't think I'm pointing to you as one of the people that are whining about losing Peters/Lewis (though if the AJC is correct Peters has committed to GT - woohoo). I just thought you made an interesting comment about folks' reactions.

More like the Class B share stockholders (with no voting rights) cry. The same ones that bitched and moaned, and wanted to fire the head of production when a slip in 4Q output led to only a minor increase in profits instead of the banner year they blindly expect annually.

For all you bitchers, it looks the report of Peters' commitment was a bit premature. AUC is now reporting that Peters has committed to GT. How's that for a close?

http://www.ajc.com/sports/content/shared-blogs/ajc/cfbrecruit/entries/2007/01/29/jason_peters_co.html

apparently he had a change of heart.

btw...I also hear that LSU did not offer a grayshirt...it was a fall start like all the others....and he still turned them down for GT.

wow.wow.wow you never know

Wonder what the "rumor" is on LSU's recruiting boards today? Bet they're down playing his potential or saying that he was over rated or that they really didn't want him....OH well that's the way the cookie crumbles...

dandydon.com is lsu's master b and he has just posted that peter's was committed to gt and apologized for posting earlier this weekend that he had committed to lsu. there is nothing to indicate that jason has reneged.
