Mark Richt..........

Didn't Tech help raise funds for a uGA baseball player who was paralyzed in an accident a few years ago? Some things just aren't worth hating your rival.

This player's life has been permanently altered and Richt has done well with this. Don't make us look like dicks.

We already look like dicks but I'm kinda impressed with the board's reaction to this. Kudos. Everyone pat yourselves on the back, except for GSUGTATL.

This is pretty dumb thread and doesn't need to exist. And I say that as a person who supports uniform threads.

This is a nice gesture from Richt and it pains me to say something even that nice about him.

This seems like a personal attack, reported.

Or sarcastically mocked the board ass hole.

Is it bad that I take that as a compliment? Can I get a trophy with that on it? Plz? Thx.

Anyways, it's a good deed, I get it. But just think it's odd and wouldn't be surprised if it is a violation. Go see the kid in the hospital or send his family a letter of support which is what most coaches do in these situations.

You were called out for being an asshole. Own up to it and move on. It has happened to all of us.

Touché, no comeback on that one. And Im not bitching about this or saying I hate Mark Richt for this just saying I think it's a bit much. Creating a charity for the guy? Come on now......

Remember when Cam Newton did this to a GT recruit- http://m.tmz.com/#article/2014/08/2...-quarterback-hospital-photo-jaylend-ratliffe/ ?

Both Richt and Newton did good deeds, no arguing that. It's just, I think a visit to the hospital is the common thing to do where as creating a donation website makes it kinda look like "hey, I just did this good deed, LOOK AT ME". And, oh, I am an asshole. I am not arguing that.

CPJ would've done this but BVG and Cut didn't give him permission to.

What good deed are you talking about? Richt posted a link to the official fundraising site that was affiliated with the school.

So one of my friends that's a gagger just showed me that Mark Richt set up a gofundme for a Southern player that was injured Saturday....this can't be real.

If real, then doesn't it have to be a NCAA infraction? I mean literally setting up a charity for a player.....Richt might be the biggest joke outside of Kiffin.

What's next- Arthur Blank raising money for Dez Bryant?

This is a recruiting ploy that will play well in the community.

An admirable thought for sure from Richt. But as a coach and knowing NCAAs propensity to find reasons to punish people, I can't imagine I'd be getting into this kind of thing as a coach. But again, at the end of the day, it's just a guy doing something nice for a kid.
