I have season tickets this year and live in Winder, Ga. I was wondering what is the best method for game day. Should i take the Marta or what? I actually have no clue what I am doing. I plan on getting to most games at least 2.5 hours early

If you are taking MARTA, get off at the North Avenue station, walk west to the Varsity, and party with the rest of us at the Varsity Lot!! That has become a great tailgating locale. From there, it is a quick walk through the 3rd Street Tunnel to get to the stadium, YJA, etc.

It's always easier to drive. You just have to know where to park

Marta sucks, don't do it. Drive in, pay the $25 or whatever to park somewhere, tailgate it up right and enjoy your afternoon/evening. I like parking over on west campus, it's kind of a walk to the stadium, but it's nice over there.

I take marta to every game and have ZERO problems doing so. I drive down to the Lingbergh station park for free and take a 5 minute marta trip to BDS. When its time to go home, no fighting with traffic, jump any train going north, in my car and out of the crowd in about 5 - 10 on the highway home.

If you are getting there 2.5 hours early you have nothing to worry about. Plus...I would never mess with Marta.

I would park somewhere around 5th and Spring St. if you do not have a parking pass for a lot on GT's campus.

Coming from Winder, get on the Marta train at the Chamblee station then get off at the North Avenue station. It's a cinch and cheap too!!!

Drive to Technology Square, park, and then walk.

I ride Marta to school every day with no problem. It's a lot cheaper than paying to park plus you don't have to mess with traffic.

remember on saturday there are several other events going on downtown including a crappy game at the dome, an all day long fan fest at the gwcc, braves that evening at turner.

Marta will be taxed to the seams. they like to shutdown tracks and such on weekends. I'd drive in and pay the $25 bucks to park.

I've taken Marta to every game for the last 4 years, and I don't remember them ever single tracking during a Tech game. You're just afraid because they let black people ride.

I've never had a problem with Marta. I've taken Marta for 5 years to 20+ games. Never a problem, never any traffic.

Marta will be packed but the roads will be even more insanely congested. I predict a good 3 hours to get off campus after the game.

Marta sucks if you have a cooler full of beer to carry. I'm driving!

Re: Wear your bullet proof vest!

Marta is a roll of the dice. I quit using it after several bad experiences with people that smelled bad and acted very strangely. One guy threatened to kill the entire assemblage of passengers one night after a Braves game. I was pissed off too since we lost to the Mets but not that upset.

Go Jackets!

I always drive. I have coolers, grill, cornhole, etc. However there is never a great solution to getting home. I am always drunk by the end of the game so I have to always try to find someone who is going to be the DD, which nobody wants to be the DD. I live in Newnan, once I took a cab home and it was like $100.

This year I went ahead and booked hotel rooms for the UNC and UGA games. That way there are at least two times I will not have to worry about this issue.

Nothing's perfect. I go with the cheap and easy route. From my experience the trains are packed with 75% fans anyway. How can anyone be scared of your fellow fans? Heck, you will be sitting with the same folks in a stadium anyway. Some of you guys are sounding a bit unreasonable and obsessed with fear. Man up and ride Marta, boys!!
