Maryland-Delaware

The order, talent wise, usually goes like this:

Div 1 FBS
Div 1 FCS
NAIA
Div II
Div III
Junior College Leagues (Although some teams here have tons of talent)

I thought NAIA was the truly po-dunk schools even below Div. III.

Anyway, I use Div. 2 in conversation about FCS schools since "IAA" isn't as easy to say.

Technically, you are correct; however, everyone I know - and probably most on this board - refer to Div 1aa as Div 2. That is mainly due to no one giving a rip about the "real" Division II or III.

All that being said, my original post (and the original point of this thread) is still acurate in that Maryland barely lost to a lower-division opponent.

Oh ok. Everyone else says the wrong thing and looks like an idiot to people who know about football, so I should too!

They have the same number of syllables....FCS is certainly easier to say

Well, no one I know says Div. II when referring to I-AA.....And... you're technically wrong.
So, whatever.

Nah NAIA can give scholarships and Div III cant. Also, when a Div II team plays an NAIA team, the NAIA team usually wins. FCS teams usually schedule NAIA teams for a warm up game in the same way that FBS teams schedule FCS teams.

Nobody I know calls D1AA, "Division Two." They are two different things.

Let's call college football, "NFL." It's easier to say.

One correction... I do think that Div. III schools are typically more competitive than D II schools. Maybe not completely in Football but definitely in a lot of other sports.

As for D1-a and D1-aa and DII, they are all completely different and should be referred to as such. You would not call a canadian a mexican or a person named Adam, Sarah. The name of the league you are refrencing is D1-AA or more recently FCS, Not D-II. You are just plain wrong GTDontWannabe...

So basically you and most of the people you know, have no clue what you're talking about?:laugher:

On another note...I was actually at the MD-Del game, and MD was never at risk of losing that game. They have serious QB problems, but the completely dominated Del at the LOS and should have scored at least 21 more points. Del got about what they should have.

Seriously doubt this. The thing about Division III is that they can't offer athletic scholarships, so I think they struggle to pull in any type of real talent. Division II schools can still offer scholarships.

Exactly, but the scholarships are limited, which is why NAIA teams are usually better.

I'm telling you for a fact that in most sports D III schools are more competitive than D II schools. Since football is such a scholarship driven sport maybe it does not apply but as a person receiving several D II scholarship offers for in lacrosse I know for a fact that D III is more competitive.

Can anyone name an NAIA football team?
Is any of this relevant?

Shorter College, Cumberland, Georgetown, Pikeville...I can keep going...the NAIA Championship Game is actually being played in Georgia this year and next.

This is interesting but has nothing to do with football.
