<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">Ummmmmm......no. Notre Dame has not had the "cream of the crop" in a while. The "cream" has been in the state of Fl. for the last several years. Part of ND's problem has been bad coaching as well as trying to run an offense from the 60's. Today's college football game is about speed, speed, and more speed. Think Miami would not put about 50+ pts. on ND right now? ND had 5 field goals and a special teams TD, nothing offensively. Maryland w/o a QB and their good running back, Perry had an inept offense at best. ND is a (currently) a shell of the team that they were under Granny Holtz in the early '90's. Now if Willingham can get a few wins, then ND might return to getting a lot of talent on its football team; it's not there right now.Originally posted by ahsoisee:
It is true, Notre Dame recruits and retains the creme of the crop each year.
