CGC said something like Duke and Louisville were the only 2 games we played last year where we were close to full strength.
No spring practice last year much more of an impact to a team coming off 3O than other teams. Sims takes good step forward this year.
Nice adds via transfer portal in positions of need.
Jahmyr Gibbs (and hopefully a full season!)
Still have a ways to go- but could be better season than many expect.
Details, please. Not a set up. I actually thought the previous guy was supposed to be good. Just looking for the back story. Didn't we have a significant defection in S&C staff last year? Our old S&C coach was a bigger problem the Sewak.
How can this be true?

Things are starting to line up.
Their head coach the season they played in the OB was Dave Doeren, who then became the NCS head coach.Northern Illinois is in the MAC. They actually played in the Orange Bowl in 2013.
That’s the body type CPJ wanted though. He wanted everyone leaner and faster instead of bigger and stronger. It fit the 3O better.I got no details. I just don’t think the staff that was here the last few years under CPJ did very well. Our guys never looked bulky, even the guys who should look that way. I don’t know if here was a switch or not.
I thought the guys at the end of the Hewitt era looked too bulky. You don’t want to be carrying unnecessary mass play basketball.

How did that work out for him on defense? That’s the body type CPJ wanted though. He wanted everyone leaner and faster instead of bigger and stronger. It fit the 3O better.
I didn’t say it was a good idea. Just that it was by design. How did that work out for him on defense?
For the OL, sure. For the abacks ok. But our LB, DL, DE, safeties, and corners weren’t cut like they should have been. Our bbacks were typically as strong as they would get as freshmen.
I enjoyed the 3O, but I don’t miss the old S&C coach at all.
It’s a sad state of affairs when we go from one of the longest bowl streaks in the country to someone from your fanbase asking “do we still have to win 6 to go to a bowl?”ACC Media Days
Interestingly, we did get four votes to win the Coastal.
Atlantic Division
(First-place votes in parenthesis)
Clemson – 1,028 (146)
NC State - 804 (1)
Boston College - 638
Florida State - 510
Wake Forest - 472
Louisville - 462
Syracuse - 202
Coastal Division
(First-place votes in parenthesis)
North Carolina - 979 (109)
Miami - 881 (28)
Virginia Tech - 582 (3)
Pitt - 576 (1)
Virginia - 540 (2)
Georgia Tech - 340 (4)
Duke - 218
And outside of the predicted division winners, only four schools got any votes to win the ACC Championship:
Miami - 3
Virginia - 1
Georgia Tech - 1
NC State - 1
I changed the font to blue if its a team we play. Plus Notre Dame and the dwags. Tough schedule this year.
Is it still a thing that you have to win 6 to go to a bowl? Do our first two games (Northern IL and Kennesaw St) count? Seems a 6 win season is possible but the margin for error is zero.
BC is a pretty trendy pick to be good this year. Our crossover games are not going to be easy.
I'm still reeling after that disaster against Minnesota. Not only do we need a bowl game, we need a bowl win. It’s a sad state of affairs when we go from one of the longest bowl streaks in the country to someone from your fanbase asking “do we still have to win 6 to go to a bowl?”
At the current rate I say 2029 is our year.I'm still reeling after that disaster against Minnesota. Not only do we need a bowl game, we need a bowl win.
