As I sit here with my family waiting for the big guy to come, I'd just like to send out a big MERRY CHRISTMAS to all the Yellow Jackets out there.

It's 8 am and my kids are still asleep, the sleeping pills worked, waaahoooo!

Merry Christmas too All!

My kids are at the age that we will have to wake them up at around 9 or so. It will be because my wife and I will be impatient. How things change over time.

Merry Christmas to all as well.

I have a question to ask, as I'm quite perturbed right now.

I grew up opening presents under the tree, my wife grew up with Santa and nothing wrapped.

I don't like this method and made my feelings known at 2:30 this morning while we put Santa out for the kids.

How do y'all do it regarding the kids these days?

JD,

That has become the chief reason for Christmas Day divorce suits and murders.

When I was coming up, Christmas gifts were usually opened on Christmas Eve since these were simply gifts from other people.

Santa left his stuff for Christmas Day and it was not wrapped up as gifts, just set out as if Santa had left it there.

I never thought too much about the matter, but looking back on it now, I think we may have done it that way in order to make room for Santa.

We used to take in some kids at Christmas time that would either be from the Open Door Home, (where familyless kids lived) or that the Sheriff or the judge at the court house would call around looking for someone to provide Christmas for. The neighbors and friends all liked to give gifts for these kids too since it would be about all the kids got for a whole year. Their wrapped gifts would consist of clothing, staple items etc. and the Christmas Morning Santa would be mainly toys and play things.

In answer to your main question:

Whatever it takes to keep the wife happy.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL !!!

Was up at 6:15 with the kids and have BOTH families at my house at the same time right now. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

Mover:

We do both. Santa brings some gifts with stockings. Gifts are open and set up neat for kids to enjoy. But, we have wrapped gifts for the kids from Mom and Dad under the tree.

Kids are 26 and 18 now, the oldest married. We did it the same way last night and today. Everyone had a great time. Try compromise, big guy. Merry Christmas!

I am still fairly to young to have kids of my own, 27, but growing up, we always had SOME wrapped, and some unwrapped already set up. Those things that would take longer to set up. i.e. Drum set, playground, etc. and other things, smaller things that didnt need "Putting together" were wrapped. This was purely so we could play with it right away, and thats what I always knew. Our family refered to them as "Piles" and the first year they left...we were disapointed. We had stopped for many years, however. last year when my brother, his wife and Kids were here, they did "Piles" for them. They seemed to love it. It is purely in our family just so we don't have to hear "Can you put this together" 20 billion diffrent times on Christmas morning.:santa:

I grew up with a combo of wrapped presents and opened gifts from 'Santa'. My wife prefers the all-wrapped presents method ...so guess which method we use?

In fact, we got our 14 year old daughter a 27" flat screen HDTV and did not put the present under the tree until last night. I angled one last time to just open the box and put the TV by the tree, mainly because I did not want to wrap that huge box.

Well, I almost went through an entire roll on the TV ...my daughter was really surprised though and really that's all that matters.

Exactly Ditto.

Santa had no reason to wrap. Each one of us three kids knew what the big guy meant.

Christmas Eve, we opened all the family gifts that had been torturing us for weeks.

Rome, I think you are the first person I know who also did it the right way. ;)

We wrapped everything... our presents to the boys were wrapped and put under the tree as we bought them and we hid Santa's presents till the boys went to bed on Christmas Eve. Santa's presents were always wrapped in "Special Paper" with Santa's picture all over the wrapping;) All the other gifts were of snowmen and other holiday wrapping.:D

Merry Christmas to All :D I hope everybody has had a great day:blue:

We grew up with the presents from Santa unwrapped under the tree, but for our kids we wrap them all because we enjoy watching the unwrapping. When we only had one, my wife even individually wrapped every item in the stocking, but nowadays with 3 she has given up on that.
