Y'all can't fight back against the networks that keep scheduling these noon games? We haven't had a decent pregame party all fricking year. No grilling, no sleeping in after a Friday night on the town. How about growing a pair.

Good grief.

Message to the GTAA:

You can probably save some money by firing a couple of guys in the front office and just getting all your fan/alumni feedback from Stingtalk. Since I know you guys all read it religiously and all.

Dear GTAA,

I love you. I haven't had the courage to tell you until now and I'm not sure if you'll even get this message, but tomorrow I plan to fight the strongest luchador in all of Mexico. I may not make it out alive. Please think of me fondly as you prepare plans to return to the Sun Bowl. I will always have a special place in my heart for you. I only ask the same from you. You need not love me as I love you, just give me the peace of knowing you care about me and my fate. Buenes Noches, mi amor.

12:00 games are going to kill the football culture we love. What is clear this year is that the networks want as many noon games as possible so that fans get home in time to tune in to the Saturday night games. These are the ones where the ratings matter most. Conferences must stand up to the networks and insist no more than three early kickoffs for any team. If they don't, ticket sales will decline and tailgating will greatly diminish.

It really sucks, because if the game was even at like 330 or later I'd be able to sneak out of work and make it but every freaking game is at noon so the only one I've been able to go to is clemson. will definitely be at the uga game though

Let's see; this Saturday the noon kickoffs include:

17 Baylor at 14 Oklahoma
Miss State at 1 Alabama
South Carolina at 11 Florida
12 Penn St. at Indiana

Probably not so much.
3/4 of those games are shitty. So probably so.

Unfortunately I'm not sure any of them really care about that. It's all about TV ratings.

Those are some of the better games on Saturday and include 5 of the top 17 teams. You can try to change the subject by using a new metric all you want, but the premise that good teams don't play at noon is false.
You picking 4 games surely disproves the premise!

I just asked 4 people who they were voting for, apparently GJ is gonna win in a landslide today!

GTAA is too busy making blueberry cobblers and not enough time focusing on the pecan pie. The meat and potatoes is secure. It's the pies, the pies are all ööööed up. Fix the ööööing pies.

We didn't learn anything about meat pies in Ireland? The potatoes are in the pie!!!!!

What's next? Scrap kit elderberry shakes?

Try to think like a TV executive for a minute, instead of an internet troll. The goal of the the television networks is to keep football viewers watching games for 12 hours on Saturday. It would make zero sense to put a bunch of lousy games between bad teams on during the first 3 hours of the day. There are basically 4 blocks to fill: noon, afternoon, evening, and late night. Only the west coast can fill the late games, and only ET and CT zones can fill the noon games. If you want a prime time evening time slot, you need to either play on weekdays or generally be in a top 25 matchup. For the rest of the times, it's more of a crapshoot.

I wonder if there is some correlation between team performance and average game start time?

3/4 of those games are ööööty. So probably so.
