I'm surprised the NC schools would go along with being split up. Maybe they will have a permanent rival type system so they can all play NC State twice.

Honestly, I thought it would be:

Group 1:
GT, Miami, FSU, Clem, BC, SU

Group 2:
UNC, Duke, NC State, Wake, UVA, Maryland

In this scenario you would have had the old ACC vs. the new members.

Of course it won't matter much unless we can find a way for academics and athletics to peacefully coexist.

I hope that is the way it settles out. Duke and WF helps the win column in football.

I am not sure I want to be in the same division with Wake & Duke. It's not good for hoops and it will not be good for football attendance to play them both every year. I was hoping to get away from those two for that reason. Plus, I wanted Miami, SU and/or BC on the schedule every year, which does not look like it would happen with this alignment.
