I guess you are right about it not being Chan in the booth(though Tenuta won't be the guy looking at it either, he needs to be thinking about the next play), but it still falls on the coaching staff. The refs screwed up big there too, not sure how the replay booth didn't pick up on that, but the coaching staff has a challenge exactly for that reason.
Was it a turnover? Maybe.
Was it going to be overturned? Sorry, no. The officials would rule that a tie goes to the offense and not enough evidence that defense had sole possession before they were down.
Have we gotten a break on a reviewed play this year? Why do you think this would be different? Officials should have reviewed it, but I doubt it would make a difference in the final call.
