I still don't buy it. They had to rely on FSU screwing up to win against them.

`He came to us in our defensive huddle and he was like, `You guys, you played your hearts out all night. Just give me one stop! That's all I need.' And he left it at that. Everybody was fired up, like, `We can't let Jacory and the offense down! They've been pulling us all game. We have to step up.' ''

Like that speech did shi*. FSU still marched it down the field, and then threw a ball a little too low. That ball is one foot higher and the U is just another mediocre season coming right up.

Yeah, but it sounded really cool, like it was taken right out of a movie.

Exactly! That goes to show how stupid betting lines and public perception is to Miami right now. Miami won because FSU couldn't punch it in. I give no credit to Miami's defense because it was bad offense that didn't score there.

FSU scores, Miami is 0-1 and not favored, there is no "U is back" talk. We are favored to win, etc. But, don't get me wrong, I am extremely happy about this confidence they have. If anything it motivates our players because we are the underdogs and it gives a few players on Miami's squad big heads.

UM (1-0) is ranked for the first time in nearly three years (No. 20 AP, No. 22 USA Today). That's a place where the Hurricanes resided permanently during the days of Dorsey and Torretta.

They must be ignoring the fact they were ranked last year when we put a hurting on em...trying to block it out of their memories I guess.

Yep. And the fact that an unproven team winning 1 game makes them ranked shows how much of a bias there are in the polls.

Let's even give them the benefit of the doubt and say they beat F$U and not that F$U lost the game on their own. Even then, they beat a team that came extremely close to losing to Jax St.

Have to give credit where credit is due though. Miami and FSU played a heck of a game that night. Miami won the game.
