Mich players speaking out

I started reading the comments attached to the article. Michigan fans are blowing it off as no big deal and that every team does this. That is complete BS. Ole' Rich Rod is putting himself in a horrible position if 10 out of 10 of his players asked about the allegations either agreed with it or didn't deny it. Breaking the rules is breaking the rules. He has divided that entire team and we'll see how well they stick together this year when things do go bad.

Rodriguez... You better win football games and not do anything stupid.

On another note, best of luck to those players if the Michigan starters figure out who mentioned that stuff.

They'll probably improve to about 6-6/7-5 but I don't know if it's gonna be enough to stay with him with the other issues swirling around the program.

I wonder how much worse they would have done last year without the extra practice!

I think that the bulls-eye on Rodriguez' back just got a little bigger.... he's going to need a 7 win bowl eligible season or else, new contract notwithstanding.

Things are only going to get worse. If any of this turns out to be true which it looks like it might with the team turning on itself then there is nowhere for that program to go other than down. I don't see them recovering from this for a LONG LONG time. whammy...

That's the karma you get for building up your alma mater to the edge of powerhouse then leaving it for a old big name school that was offering you less money to go there.

Isn't Rich the guy who "accidentally misplaced" the entire collection of recruiting files from WVU when he left?

I'd be keeping an eye on that guy if I were a Michigan supporter.

I honestly dont see them winning 5 games especially with the team not being united. The article said that is was a couple of starters that spoke out. Rich Rod is a cheat IMO!!

Ha. Anything that knocks Meeechigan down several pegs is ok by me. They wanted Rich Rod, they got what they deserve. Here's to a 4-8 season for them.

I don't give a damn for the whole state of Meeechigan.

:D

I'm just glad they couldn't find a use for Ryan Mallet. I think Arkansas will be able to keep him busy (if he stays out of trouble).

Anyone think that Threet could be the guy mentioned in the article? Former starter that left the program....it would be interesting were it to be true.

I was thinking the exact same thing but didn't want to point any fingers. Kid comes to Tech to throw, transfers as soon as CPJ comes in, starts at UMich in a few games in 2008, then transfers again? Something doesn't compute there.

He transfered under Gailey, a year before CPJ got here. He was in line to start between him and Tater.

I don't really consider it pointing any fingers, I would actually be proud of the kid if he did it.

I think Michigan was his dream school originally, and when a spot opened up he decided to head back home. There was the whole "misses his girlfriend" thing as well.

I believe he left Michigan because he just didn't fit the offense. He wasn't going to play once a mobile QB got in there.

This has to be one of the dumbest things I have heard of in awhile. Athletes reporting their own coach for too many workouts and exceeding practice hours. This is done at every program in the country. And the funny thing about this is that all those extra workouts and practices equalled 3-9. There has been some criticism of Rodriguez, but if you are doing all these extra workouts/practices and you still a 3-9 team maybe the players should take look in the mirror.

Oops, you're right my bad.

I was taking into consideration that whoever spoke out wanted to remain anonymous. Although with the facts provided, it wouldn't be very hard to narrow the list down if someone really wanted to know who he was.

This was the exact thought that I had. All teams probably violate this rule to some degree. After all, it is hard to quantify "voluntary". But this is a program that has players (starters) turning against the coach. Which is probably a bigger problem than the violation itself. Man...don't you know RR is regretting his decision to leave WVU. There are serious, serious morale problems at Michigan. It would not suprise me if they lost their opener to Western Michigan.
