It was the same way for most of the bammers too apparently, at least for the older ones. The old fans still hated Tech's guts and to them it was like hiring Peyton Manning as a QB coach. If you understand the Bama-UT redneck rivalry and how much Peyton dominated the bammers, you'll see just how big of a statement that is.
 
Wow, some of the dumbest things I've seen, I've read on this board. Curry? ARE YOU ****ING KIDDING ME??? No offense, but be quiet if you cannot offer something better than Bill Curry. God have mercy on us if someone actually listened to you.

If we keep Chan I'll stick with season tickets. If we fire Chan, I'll do the same...unless we hire Bill Curry. We would be the laughing stock of the country if we hired him to be a HC. I imagine that you would also be interested in hiring Lou Holtz too?
 
There's one Old Tech Codger in my office who's face still turns beat red any time you mention the mere words "Bill Curry." He launches strait into profanity. Worse hate than Bill Lewis by far.
 
I say we dig up Bobby Dodd....NO, NO, NO, wait....Bear Bryant [just to piss off the Bama fans] and do that plasticization stuff to him like that Bodies display that was in town last year. Make him our HC and have Buzz pull him around the sideline in a Radio Flyer wagon. I bet that Plasticized Bear Bryant would win at least 2-3 more games per year than Curry, would draw better assistant coaches, and be a better recruiter.

I'm all for desecrating the bodies of Alabama football coaches, whether we're using them as our coaches or not.

While we're at it, we should desecrate Vince Dooley's body.
