more boring positivity

And if we miss it, that might be our last opportunity to win, as we were struggling all second half in stopping Clemson, and their big play ability would have been bad in an OT situation.

I thought it was the right call definitely.

Didn't we punt then? Maybe I'm confused.

The 4th and 1 play I was referring to was in the third quarter and, after trying to draw them offsides and then not hiking the ball when they were, we punted. Two plays later Ford caught a TD pass to put them within 3 points.

I agree it would be absurd to go for it on 4th down on either of the last two field goal attempts.

Against any other school, I'd be happy. I don't trust Miami to play clean football though. If we lose Josh Nesbitt to a dirty hit from one of their thugs, we don't say goodbye to the game, we say goodbye to the season.

Miami scares me.

I'm more worried about F$U in that regard. They have a more recent history of dirty play, especially on qbs. I saw members of their defense shoving Miami players' heads into the ground after the play more than once on Monday and let's not forget how they treated Joe.

I think Miami is actually a bit more image-conscious now.

Not real sure I'm ready to freak out but the defense left me cold. Shades of O'Leary. Bring on the frosh!

I remember that play well. It was 4th and a foot and I think we should have gone for it. The ball was at the 34 I believe and the intentional delay of game penalty trying to draw them offsides moved it out tot he 39 or so. We need to be able to convert 4th and a foot in enemy territory.

I actually would have been OK with going for it on the 4th and 1 before the last field goal bucause I didn't feel good about keeping them out of field goal range with a minute left. My confidence in the D had been shaken that much.

They did jump offsides, but they didn't make contact, and whoever our C was at the time didn't snap the ball. The was another drive-ender that we blew.
