Rush hour traffic into ATL on thursday night?
There is bad traffic into Atlanta every night.
Rush hour traffic into ATL on thursday night?
Nope. I was already in Atlanta and since I felt I shouldn't use the freeway due to construction and lane closings, I used surface streets which were clogged with people trying to get wherever they were going. It took 1 1/2 hours for me to go three miles.
Far less people. UNC is not the only school who does this...I've heard of at least a couple other schools. WVU is the same way...they have hosted only two in their history, and only one in the past 15 years. That one came last year, when they were in contention for the national title. I bet if UNC was ranked top 10 in football, they would find a way to make it work at least once.

it is not the AA's fault that you made a bad choice on how to get to the game. if you were already in Atlanta, you could have taken MARTA, for example, and been in fine shape. also, the highways are not as clogged as some make them out to be. i know, as i work at 14th & Peachtree, right in the heart of the reconstruction and am on the highway to and from work. traffic is bad, but get off your high horse already. FYI, it is not the AA's fault that you dont know that neither FedEx nor UPS deliver to a PO Box - that is standard practice.
Fine. Neither BuzzCzar nor the AA cares if I don't buy season tickets. Since we cannot take MARTA due to physical limitations, if we want to see Tech play, we'll just have to watch them on HDTV or not watch them at all. Boo Hoo. :crybaby:
But thanks for all your positive and helpful advice BuzzCzar. What a great service representative you would make for someone's business.
The Atlanta road infrastructure is the worst in the country.

that is a ridiculous comment! you must not travel far. try driving to Charleston, WV and tell me what you think, or just go on 85 to Alabama, or even down to Tallahassee. Atlanta has a good infrastructure in comparison, and that doesnt even start to count the northern cities where snow and ice ruin roads much faster, like in Pittsburgh or in Detroit or Chicago
stop drinking, koholic!
Charleston WV is right next to a superhighway also. UNC is fed by county roads and U.S. #1?
your post was not at all constructive or asking for help, it was just plain whining, wasnt it?

they barely have road signs in west virginia, forget about street lights, or directional signs
it was just plain whining
i dont think Kyle ever leaves his room,
its UNC. it is about the same amount of people, around 20k
Actually, it was just a simple observation and hint that someone in the AA with half a brain could think about to make improvements...that is, if they are interested in filling the stands with Jacket fans. But you have to have half a brain first.
BuzzCzar, I have followed your posts on Stingtalk for sometime. You should look in the mirror when you preach. You are the most negative poster here so there is absolutely no way you could have worked for me in customer service.
considering your disposition, i wouldnt want the job. most of the quotes you reference are in response to posts that are negative
in any case, i have very successful in a life of sales and consulting, which takes a lot of customer service. it is true that i have little patience for some behaviors.
then again, my role on this board is not to serve you, but to serve Georgia Tech and by getting people to whine less and do more, i feel that i am doing it right
i dont think you hear Bubba complain that he has to drive his RV for hours to get to the UGA game near as much as you hear the "smarter" Tech fans complaining about getting to games. if we want FANS to fill the stadium, then we need to develop a FAN base that shows up regardless and despite difficulty and not use TRAFFIC as an excuse to not come. THAT is a negative attitude, not mine. of course, my opinion, and nothing personal against you.
when i lived in San Diego, it didnt stop me from attending the games. you want to talk travel?
OK, I changed my previous post to remove the use of the word "negative" and substituted "arrogant and condescending" which, IMHO, better describes you.
How many of you have been to a game at UNC? It's hard to find parking for women's soccer there, much less football. In fact, most of the parking for football is off campus, at shopping centers, etc., where you catch a bus to the stadium. I can understand why they wouldn't want to try to deal with a Thursday night game with their campus situation.my issue it is ONE DAY a freaking year! They cannot endure that hardship.
To me this reeks of bush league but good for us. I am sure this will be making the recruiting rounds.
Recently some of these NC locals were complaining about Lowes motorspeedway so this guy started looking for a new place to put his racetrack. lol
It cost the local about ~$50 mil in tax breaks to keep the track in concord.
It seems these locals are a bunch of whiners and don't care about the ESPN exposure and etc.
I have been to a UNC game and found it to be a typical parking experience (Uva, Ugag, GT, Dook, and etc.)
The UNC AD is being a tool to FB the same way ugag hangs out BB.
If this was a final four, ACC tourney or etc THEY WOULD SHUT DOWN 4 COUNTIES to make it work.
