more press for our workout drills

Not exactly national press, since Spencer Hall is the same guy as Orson Swindle on EDSBS and he went to GT for grad school. SportingNews.com gave him a mainstream press blog.

Say what you want about Spencer Hall, his weekly College Football Alphabetical is amazing.

It's still read nationally. I've seen it on ESPN's ACC blog, EDSBS, Sporting News, and Dr. Saturday. And those are the only blogs on my RSS, so I'm sure it's elsewhere.

I guess when things are slow any interesting article gets posted.

Here's Orson/Spencer's link to it. Funny:

Yeah, sorry for the token asshole post about whether or not it's national attention. At least it's out of the way.

I found EDSBS's poll on the side quite amusing.

How would you best describe Ohio State's offense?

Like plate tectonics, but without the awesome explosions and earthquakes (39.0%, 1,105 Votes)
Like two sloths tearing open a stone crab (22.0%, 620 Votes)
Like lightning made of slow (20.0%, 570 Votes)
Like two Ents having sex (20.0%, 557 Votes)
Total Voters: 2,852

Heh.

Toward the end of practice, Johnson would ask his coaches to evaluate the units with a thumbs up or thumbs down; groups not keeping up got the thumbs down, a verdict putting that group in the middle of the field to sit and watch the others. This sounds like a pleasant break, but it was cold enough to be a punishment in terms of temperature alone, and the shame of dropping out seemed to genuinely irritate the players. When the offensive line was called out of drills to sit, unprintable grumbling seethed from them as they puffed to the middle of the field.
This is right on the money. Coach Johnson inherited a lot of spoiled kids and made them competitive, accountable, and tough in about 2 months.

That sledge hammer and tire exercise looked interesting, I've never seen that before.

Judging by the redshirts, its for those guys who are too injured to do real exercises on their feet, and so they work their upperbody.

I'm hoping that they send Orson/Spencer to more of the spring practices. He's amusing, and he harbors a sizable hatred for the mutts.

Actually Spencer Hall wrote an article on us earlier, it was from his attendance of a college football game in a dome in Atlanta that shall not be named. It was actually pretty hilarious, especially when he comment on how a paper airplane landed next to him from above despite the above seats being in an overhang ending 15 feet in front of the window of the press box he was in. He didn't overwork our level of performance too which was decent.

I think he actually likes Tech some, although he's a Gator first and foremost. I read that article and it was pretty funny, but I was still steaming over our performance in that game at the time.

Either way, him covering practices and the Spring game will be much more enjoyable then anything the AJC will write up.
