So, I know that VPI is this week, and I should be focusing all my hatred like a fully armed and operational battle station annihilating a small moon in the Yavin system, but I cannot help and laugh at the growing sentiment of mutt nation towards their deified commander in chief. I know that we all agreed that if Richt lost to both us and UF this season, his seat would be warm. But this is a catastrophe of a football team. I don't wonder if they'll beat UF, I wonder if they'll beat Vandy. I took the time out of my day and read some of the blogs run by knuckle-draggers, and there's a sentiment that is eerily familiar to us all. Many of the things being written could easily substitute Chan Gailey for Mark Richt at the beginning of the Can Chan era. Personally, I'm loving this. Absolutely loving every single minute of it. Schadenfreude! Your tears taste so yummy!

What are the odds that Richt makes it through the end of next season, or even to the beginning?

Richts not going anywhere soon. If he leaves it will be on his own accord. The only way I see him leaving in the next 5 years is if Damon Evans gives him an ultimatum on hiring/firing of coordinators. I personally hope Richt stays, he is loyal to a fault to his players/coaches(ex. Shockley and Martinez). He recruits well, but what Ugay coach hasn't "recruited" well. I would be scared to death if Richt left because Ugay has the money and resources to get whomever they want.

I agree he is going nowhere. I also do not believe that they are that bad. However, I heard on the radio yesterday that Donnan was 22-10 against the SEC his last 4 yrs at the pool. Richt is currently 18-10. Of course we will have only beaten them 2 years in a row:)

Uga IV can **** solid gold bricks for the mutts to pay for a coach for all I care, ask Arkansas how well Bobby Petrino is working out. Richt is a good coach, as much as I hate to admit it, and if he gets canned, I don't know who will be a step up. I would love for him to get fired, and for UGA to bring someone in that costs a ton of money and doesn't get the job done.

I know who UGA's new head football coach ought to be: He's a young guy who has already made it to the National Championship game. He's a proven recruiter. He looks great, says the right stuff. He already has ties to the GA area, especially Atlanta. He has relationships with guys in the pros. This guy would be the PERFECT fit to be the next head coach of UGA football:

I think Richt is a good coach. One season doesnt define you as a coach. Things have just lined up bad for him this season. He is very loyal to his assistants and thats his problem. They aren't cutting it. Whats scares me is Will Muschamp. That guy can flat out coach and would light a fire under their ass a la CPJ. I know he's next in line at Texas, but I dont see Mack leaving anytime soon. Muschamp should be a HC NOW. Dont get me wrong, Richt has done a great job in his tenure at UGAy, but I think Muschamp could take them to the next level. He's that kind of coach. A natural born leader who is as intense as they come (2nd to PJ). I honestly believe if Will Muschamp is ever the coach there, they will win a National Title. Richt will have some nice seasons, but going 11-1 is not in the cards for them anymore as long as Urban is at UF,CPJ here, Saban at Allibamer, and hell, even Chizik at Damn Eagle. It isnt 2003, 2005, or 2007 anymore. The landscape of southern football in general has changed so much since those SEC glory days. Richt is a good coach, but I dont think he can consistently compete with the aforementioned. $hit, call me a moron if u will, but Tennerrrrc is on the rise. For God's sake Lane Kiffin has been mentored by Pete Carroll and Montie Kiffin (argueably the best DC in NFL history). Not to mention ole Montie has that Vol defense playing like men with bowling balls as testicles.

The Rev. might be losing this team. I heard a radio report on the way home saying there was a players only meeting called by the seniors to implore the youngsters not to quit on them and trying to reinforce the message from the Rev. of "don't quit".

I'm enjoying this.

So in other words:

UGAy Football Team said:
Since our coaches are incompetent, we have decided to coach ourselves!

This is exactly what I'm talking about when I say that UGA's season is a trainwreck of epic proportions. They are lucky to be at 3-3. Richt is throwing the players and fans under the bus. Read some of the UGA blogs. Half of them are in full on meltdown mode, and the other half are imploring folks to ignore the smoke. It's a debacle and I love it. Richt's out of tricks and motivational techniques.

Muschamp won't come to UGA. Most of the gaggers are ruling him out for one reason or another. He might be waiting a while at Texas, but that's a pretty sweet gig. He comes to Athens, he has the weight of the world on his shoulders.

Oh $hiit, I forgot about the cocktail classic. I feel a party coming on! Go Reptiles! Wot, not this week? Extra time!

I'd like to read some of this misery, what are some of the mutt blogs??

I work with too many of these idiots!!

True Story:

Saw a bumperstick today on the way home from work:

Save Uga Football, Fire Coach Richt.

WOW.

I could only hope that they would be that dumb.:fingersx:

Damon Evans is not that dumb

It just seems to me that there is a natural law keeping Tech and UGa from being good at the same time. In 1980, they were good and we weren't. By 1989, a complete reversal. Mid 90s another reversal. Late 90s another reversal. From 2001 to 2007, yet another reversal, and in 2009 once again, Tech is heading up and Uga is on the way down.

With all the talent in this state, you wouldn't assume that only one program at a time can be really good - a safe assumption in for example South Carolina or Kentucky where there the talent pool isn't as deep.

When is the last time that Tech and UGa were both top 15 when they met?

Top 15 is a pretty tough standard. 1966 is the answer. But the fact is we have only been in the top 15 going into the UGAg game once since 1966 (1990, of course).

Last year we were #18 and they were #13.

2006: GT #16, UGAg unranked

2005: GT #20, UGAg #13

2000: GT #18, UGAg #19

1999: GT #20, UGAg #16

1998: GT #17, UGAg #12

1990: GT #2, UGAg unranked

1970: GT #16, UGAg unranked

1966: GT #5, UGAg #7

1956: GT #4, UGAg unranked

1955: GT #9, UGAg unranked

1953: GT #12, UGAg unranked

1952: GT #2, UGAg unranked

1951: GT #6, UGAg unranked

1947: GT #9, UGAg unranked

1946: GT#7, UGAg #3

1944: GT#10, UGAg unranked

1943: GT #14, UGAg unranked

1942: GT #2, UGAg #5
