1- Finally UF is #1 in a poll...
2- At least Vandy is not last
3- Auburn's highest preseason ranking ever
4- The first time I have ever seen UGA underrated...

That AJC article is terrible, once again. It also panders squarely to the biggest douches in the universe. Also, this:

does not even begin to scratch the surface of why UGA should be listed as #1 in this poll. Auburn? Please, those fans were nicer to us then 89% of the ACC teams, and this is after we beat them, tore down our own goal posts and nearly dropped one onto the Auburn band. The fact is this. I have only ever had one team's fans yell something as magnificent as "Hey Nerd, what's the square root of a million?" to me, then get beligerent when I correctly answer.

idk about ranking them high i havent personally experienced bad ones but i did see a guy on tv last year watchin the game that had the miami "U" shaved in his chest hairs. a half was his hair and the other half was shaved but surrounded by hair. pretty disgusting but i got to admit it was cool.

clemson fans are by far the worst in my eyes. coming into last years game i ran into a drunk frat bouchedag that was screaming how spiller and davis were going to run all over us. needless to say they didnt even combine for 100 yards so that im sure shut him up

Allen, we probably have a slanted view on U[sic]GA's fans, given our rivalry. I know I am a lot bigger asshole to their team/fans than I am towards any other team we play. I haven't been to any non-Tech U[sic]GA games, but I have actually heard that the fans there are not as intense and/or obnoxious as a lot of SEC schools, and I've heard that a lot of their students[sic] are disappointed in that.

Clemson fans always came off as bumpkins more then obnoxious to me. I know the two aren't mutually exclusive (cough...athens...cough), but Clemson fans never bothered me. No ACC fans really have, to tell the truth. UVA fans bothered me at the games, but sitting in the South student section brings you into contact with the opposing schools best and brightest... UVA fans were also fairly dumb, but they have a gay cowboy as a mascot, and you cannot stop laughing about that. I'd imagine we'd rank pretty high up there to other schools.

no need to butcher my comment. that is my opinion. clemson lover...arent they our true rival? o well i just dont like them. ive also encountered them being obnoxious while i was out on the lake up there because i had a GT shirt on when it wasnt even football season so i believe ive had enough encounters to consider them obnoxious fans. of course with any team all fans are not the same. there are probably plenty of people that can say that they have had good experiences with other of our opponents excluding UGAy.

4. FSU - Fans living in the past

7. Boston College - Other than the accent, they're okay in my book
8. UNC - I think the powder blue has a very calming effect on their fans' emotions
9. Clemson - great fans who are always gracious
10. Wake Forest - Generally too humble to be obnoxious

- I didn't rank Duke because there weren't enough fans to make a sweeping generalization

My most obnoxious fans in the ACC (for all around, not just football)

1) Maryland - Hard to explain, but just all around jack asses

2) Miami - I think beej67 about summed up my view of them

3) VT - They live in Blacksburg, have had a good football team for a couple of years after decades of sucking and they think they can talk big all of a sudden (Die in a Fire VT fans)

4) Duke - fair weather basketball fans that think they know it all

5) UVA - trust fund football retards

6) UNC - Ever try to talk to one of them about football? its rediculous. On top of that, they think they are god's gift to basketball, plus I HATE that freaking mouth breathing center

7) NC State - Only dealt with their fans in 03 and 05 when they were in town for the game and they were just annoying at the time, nothing specific

8) Wake Forrest - Their fans were fine when they were in town for football a while back but then this past year when they were at AMC they started doing their "wake" - "forrest" cheer while Jeremis was on the ground after he tweeked his knee or something. For that bit of disrespect they suck.

9) FSU - I wasn't around when we were still playing them every year but off of reputation alone they will be here.

10) Clemson - Nothing really, but I do hate that stupiod 1 2 3 4 thing they do, We get you can count and spell now get over yourselves learn a new cheer and please when you deliver my paper make sure its on the porch so I don't have to walk all the way down to the street.

11) BC - Other than that one guy that follows them everywhere with that crazy hat, do they have any more fans? Also Flutie seems like a nice guy.

I goto Auburn with my friends for football games( no one except my cousins want to goto Tech games )
and always wear something GT and have had no problems with them, most even say they like Tech. I guess we all just have different experiences.

Visit their board, they already have the greatest team ever assembled.

As far as the most obnoxious of any team we have played, again far and away -

2) Florida State - When we play them this year, it will be 1 day removed from 6 years to the day that I attended a game against them. There wasn't any hostility, but a very smug air about all of the fans I sat around. That, and when you get a little liquor in them, they don't stop screaming at nothing for anything.

3) Miami - In most of their minds, every game is a potential springboard to the Canes becoming a national powerhouse again. Most of the ones I'm talking about wear "U" hats with Michael Vick jerseys.

4) Duke - When anything whatsoever goes their way in a football game, they are suddenly the trash talking kings of the universe. But two plays later when their quarterback acts as Michale Johnson's stress ball, they're suddenly oblivious to the fact that there is even a game going.

5) UNC - Ignorant, ignorant fans. The ones I've encountered know next to nothing about football and pull stats and standings out of their asses. Doesn't help that they can't see you save by looking down their noses.

6) UVA - Just arrogant cunts. Last time they were in town I heard one of them say "It doesn't matter, we always beat you guys." .. "At your home stadium, yeah. Not here." .. "HAH, see?"

7) Wake Forest - The times I've seen us play them they've been pretty mild mannered with the exception of the ACCCG in 05. Everything was fine until they won and suddenly they were the new juggernauts of the league.

8) NC State - Never really had any bad experiences with them in spite of all the horror stories I hear from others. The occasional drunken idiot, but nothing too bad.

9) Maryland - Same as NC State, just a little angsty.

10) Boston College - Same as Maryland, substitute "generally clueless" for angsty.

11) Clemson - They're loud, they come in massive numbers, they're hillbillies, their cheers make me want to jump off of the Upper East and they wear some of the more hideous outfits I've ever seen. They do everything that a rival should do in a big rivalry game and they do it well - but I've never seen them do it without class.

In my opinion, obnoxious fans aren't necessarily the ones who talk trash, and get too drunk, or act like idiots at the games, because we all do that; but instead are the ones who think that simply by pulling for their amazing team they have some how been elevated to a higher status than anyone else in life. When you begin to let your football teams successes permeate into your real life and somehow think that when your team beats another team it makes you a better person than someone on the other team, that is when you are an obnoxious fan, and that award goes straight to UGA with UF coming in a close second... In the ACC that definitely goes to VT with FSU and Climpsun right begind....

Sorry, edited, to say that it seems that you have a serious disdain for every single person/opponent out there. I wonder how Tech's fans are viewed in the end. (My brother (USAFA), for example, wouldn't buy Tech tickets because he thought the students acted in an unacceptable manner.)
