Through the years, there have been some single-game performances by opposing players that really stood. Some of these folks could not be stopped to save our guys' lives.
As a change of pace 'round here, let's name some of those guys who made you want to throw a brick through your TV.
Off the top of my head:
Woody Dantzler, Clempsun 2001: Ran for most of his 200 yards in the 2nd half and OT as Clempsun rang up 40 pts after halftime to win 47-44.
Mike Cloud, BC 1998: The one sore spot in a brilliant '98 season. Didn't matter if it was 2nd & 1 or 3rd & 13, Cloud ran all over us (thanks to a truckload of missed tackles by our DBs) as BC won 41-31.
Morgan Kane, Wake 1999: Same as Cloud. We 7-2 coming in and had an outside shot at the Orange Bowl if we ran the table. Uh, no. Kane and the Deacs jumped up 23-0 in one of the most pathetic 1st halves in GT history. Little Joe tried to lead us back, but we simply couldn't stop Kane the whole day. Seems like he ended up running for about 240 that afternoon as Wake held on for a 26-23 win.
