Good.

I hope we're well off enough by August that "voluntary activities" doesn't put a lot of schools, families or players in compromising positions. Fingers crossed.

How do you play football with 6 feet social distancing? If u get within 6 feet of runner then he is down? If you are covering a receiver then can't guard him within 6 feet? The passing game will flourish. Makes tackling and pass coverage unnecessary. Who will win the NC? THe DWAGS

That''s putting it lightly.

Can you imagine being a Michigan football fan or Detroit Lions fan? Your Governor/Dictator Whitmer has just declared that THERE WILL BE NO FOOTBALL in the state of Michigan until there is a vaccine.

She's obviously no scientist. There has never been a vaccine for 9.99/10.00 pathogenic human viruses.

Meanwhile, your rival (OSU) is playing football this fall.

Meanwhile in Alabama:

Sports teams are allowed to begin practicing and training together starting Friday at 5:00 p.m.
From May 23 until June 14, teams can practice but may not compete against other teams. Restrictions such as mandatory mask wearing for coaches and a ban on high fives will be in place.
Beginning June 15, teams can compete against each other in their venue of choice, but health precautions remain in place.
Hey there is a pandemic virus out there, no high fives!

actual wording is this:

a.Permitted team activities. From May 22, 2020, at 5:00 P.M., until June 14, 2020, participation in team athletic activities is limited to practices that involve conditioning, skill drills, and similar activities, subject to the rules of this paragraph. Beginning June 15, 2020, participation in team athletic activities may proceed in any respect subject to the rules of this paragraph.
b.Social distancing.
(i)Players, coaches, officials, and spectators shall not congregate within 6 feet of a person from another household except to the extent necessary—and only to the extent necessary—for players, coaches, and officials to directly participate in the athletic activity.
(ii)Players, coaches, officials, and spectators shall refrain from high fives, handshakes, and other physical contact except to the extent necessary—and only to the extent necessary—for players, coaches, and officials to directly participate in the athletic activity.
c.Facial coverings. Players, coaches, and officials shall wear a mask or other facial covering that covers his or her nostrils and mouth at all times except when a player or official is directly participating in the athletic activity.
d.Sanitation. Players, coaches, and officials shall not share water coolers, drinking stations, water bottles, cups, or other drinking devices. Organizers of athletic activities shall take reasonable steps, where practicable, to regularly disinfect frequently used items and surfaces.

Seems reasonable to me. Anything less would have the fear mongers in an uproar.

I like it.

That is a sure fire way to get these commies run out of office.

There is a fact of life in Division I athletics that cannot be ignored. Football is responsible for 85% of an athletic department's revenue—if not more. At many schools the only other sport that pays its way is men's basketball, although at a few and a I mean a very few others..... the wrestling or hockey programs provide financial support, and women's basketball comes close to avoiding red ink. Again that is a few!!!

Translation: If football can't be played, schools most likely will have to cancel all sports.

And don't get caught up on the idea that they could play football in the spring. It would be ill-advised to think schools could play in March, April and May, and expect players to be back in camp the following August for the start of another season.

Translation: There will be sports in the fall! Thank God for Football! Go Jackets!
