“I might call [former MSU linebacker] Dominic Douglas to see what their wishbone is like,” said Chaney, a Fort Pierce, Fla., native and former Georgia signee. “I know a lot of dudes, too, who play for the University of Miami, who just played them. I am going to call all of them to see what they did to slow them down.”

“You have to know your keys and your responsibilities. Like [MSU defensive line] Coach [David] Turner always tells us -- ‘Play in your yard and don’t try to do anybody else’s job but do your own.’ I think we have that now whereas we didn’t have that last year. Now we have guys that do their jobs.”

I don't know about you guys, but I am seeing a real trend here. I can write these things for every team that plays us.

It'll go like this:

"I (coach or player) am going to call (coach or player) at (insert name of team that beat us) and see what they did to stop them. All we have to do is play our assignment and that is all you have to do."

Insert that to every team we have to play for the rest of the year.

Also, MSU doesn't scare me. LSU was an unknown and Auburn ran the ball well against them. UNC scared me, MSU does not. At least UNC had many NFL caliber players on their defense. I haven't heard much about that about MSU. Paul Johnson will get us there. We have heard all of this "we will play assignment defense and that's all it takes" look at just last week.

GO JACKETS!

Are their players also going to start calling USCe players to figure out how to stop Ole Miss's offense? What an idiotic thing to say.

I hope he doesn't contact Damien Berry, or else we'll all be in for a long day...

How come nobody is sayin that we have the blueprint to run all over UNC's defense?

Because it is a generally accepted formation and conforms to the "norm" of college football teams, so there is by default no blue print for teams under this category influenced by the media (who governs mainstream "never blue printed" teams).

Only the gimmicks have a blue print silly willy.

TX Tech gets the same treatment.

Texas Tech doesn't get quite as much criti**** because most people assume it's something similar to a West Coast offense. Most people don't understand what a spread is, whatsoever.

Back on topic, I can't imagine that this kid is serious. Has anyone watched MSU play this season? How does their offense look? Of the teams we play, I assume they'd be the most similar to us in terms of schemes and philosophies. This game worries me because it's a total trap game.

Based on how we played against UNC, I still believe we're the only ones who can beat ourselves against MSU. We made a good defensive adjustment which I assume will match up against their squad come Saturday. Hit our blocks on offense (please!) to open up the running lanes, mix in a little passing, and we should be good.

Coach Johnson needs to see to it our team stays motivated and emotionally high. Hopefully Derrick Morgan and the other team leaders will facilitate that.

I believe that Tech will always run into teams with good, talented athletes. That being said,if we execute our plays properly we will always have a good chance to win.:fingersx:
