MSU Halftime Thoughts

Here are my thoughts after the first half:

1. The offense looks good. CPJ is calling an excellent game giving MSU a bunch of different looks. The one negative was the fumble by Dwyer, but the fumble return by Tarrant more or less erases that one.

2. The defense is getting gashed by the option, but is not giving up the big plays. Hopefully we see some good halftime adjustments here. Solid defense by the secondary with the exception of the one long pass on Tarrant. I'm confident that we can adjust since our defense sees the option on a regular basis (even if they don't always practice against it).

3. I've never heard a TV broadcaster who is more of a homer than Doug Bell. He practically wet himself when MSU returned the kickoff for a TD. IIRC he said that it was "beautiful," and there have been several other similar moments tonight. I guess I should have expected it - the game is on the "SEC network."

Dwyer will atone for the fumble by scoring twice in the third quarter. We have passed well, but need to stick to the run and wear them down. No more turnovers.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for noticing this. He has spent most of the first half gushing over the MSU HC.
