MTSU vs Army

James Franklin and Ralph Friedgen had better winning percentages than CPJ. CPJ vs Fitzgerald is basically a push. Mangino’s 2007 season was better than any season we had with the 3O.

None of those schools need the 3O to have a slightly over .500 program.

WTF is the MTSU coaching staff doing? Let the clock run out at the end of half with 2 timeouts left and inside the 10-yardline. Announcers didnt even mention it either (announcers are god awful; so wouldnt expect much more) but the incompetance of their coaching staff should be a fireable offense
Listening on XM and those announcers spoke extensively about how poor it was.

If only football were about averages. Its not, ask Auburn. Ask the Buffalo Bills. Football is about peaks.

Every team, every single team would trade a winless season for an undefeated season. Maybe even 3-1.

The 3o is a system like any other. It wins and loses. At the same time FSU broke the I, Nebraska won more championships. But football moved on. GT has moved on. It would be great to see a variety of offenses, but college football today is about recruiting. It is following college basketball.

Also uses a TE and will mix in some looks from the gun; nice evolution of the base offense. I hope he gets a look at a P5 at some point.
No way. Unless it is a school that doesn’t want to ever leave the option. And in that case, he is probably better off at Army.

GT pretty much ended any chance of another P5 going the option route. It's pretty obvious a school goes all in on the triple option and you cant go back without years of pain afterwards as you retool your roster. I do think Monken is clever enough (and not stubborn enough) to sell a more standard form of modern option football like RPO if he were to interview for a P5 gig, though. Of all triple option teams, GT seemed the most old school compared to what I see at the service academies today. We had none of the complexities of Army's or Navy's offenses and even seemed to get more and more simpler as the years wore on. Maybe if CPJ had just evolved but that is all water under the bridge...

Vandy, or NW, or Maryland, or Kansas could do a lot worse. Vandy specifically, which has no brand other than SEC doormat with no fans, is the most logical option. Of course, the SEC would ;probably kick them out so their schools wouldnt have to face it

he could recruit SEC caliber players for the OOO and be able to beat Alabama in the SECC game.

Vanderbilt can't recruit SEC caliber players as is, they sure as öööö can't recruit them running the 3O
