Muschamp

you have never heard Jon I guess

There is a difference between being the coordinator and being the head man...responsible for managing great coordinators, great assistant coaches, being accountable to the parents of players, being accountable to decades of alumni, etc.

Jon is what he is..that is why he is a coordinator.

The mighty Mark Richt does not carry himself that way...matter of fact neither does Tommy Tuberville.

We should be able to do much better and raise our odds of success...and success will be measured by much more than W's and L's....unlike the SEC.

I understand that, who's to say he doesn't do that though when given the chance? Even Jon would tone it down if he were head coach I am certain.

I am not close on this subject so I could be way off. But why would we make the same mistake again and not hire the (offensive) successful coordinator?

Don't you recall that Richt was an admitted hell raiser while coaching at fsu, before turning it around after one of the players got killed?

This or the fact that he played at uga doesn't offend me.
He's coached at LSU and AU and I doubt he pulled any punches vs georgia. In fact he may despise them for not offering him a job.

Picture Reggie Ball being a coach for uga. How sentimental toward Tech do you think he would be?

Muschamp will make a great HC. He wouldn't be considered if he didn't get great recs from Tubberville and Saban. If he wins, beats Ga, doesn't cheat and graduates players , no one will care where he got his undergrad degree or if he cusses during games.

NO WAY I want Muschamp for the leader and representative of the Georgia Institute of Technology's football program. He is a UGA grad-1994...and that may be the best part about him. He lacks the social tact necessary to be a head coach and direct other coordinators that would hopefully be great. Go listen to interviews with him.

Remember...a head coach that was a great coordinator does not get to be a coordinator anymore...they simply do not have the time.

Talk about a roll of the dice!
hivered, I have no idea if he would be a good HC or not, but it that youtube clip is what has you fired up I don't understand you at all. I want to know how many college coaches/players don't curse during games. And if you tell me Chan doesn't that makes absolutely no difference to me. I curse, I don't care if coaches/players do. I didn't hear or see anything in that clip that would bother me one little bit.

NCJacket.....If you read hivered's post he is refering to many interviews not just the youtube post. Anyone that has been around college football the last couple of years is very aware of Muschamp's many goofs behind the microphone. He is not the guy you want representing your team as a head coach. The youtube was posted by someone else, and was another example, but not the only refernece by hiveredtech. If Muschamp is hired you will still have division among the Tech fanbase. This will stem from not only the people that do not want a UGA grad, but also those that would like a head coach with Character.

You're joking, right??? You are basing whether we hire someone as our coach on the fact that he shows a lot of emotion and said a "bad" word??? Regardless of his UGAy undergrad I would, at the very least, ask him to interview.

Our program needs a HUGE shot in the arm to gain back the support of the SAs(did you see TC's comments regarding CCG), recruits, alumni and fans. Not saying he's the guy but he's worth interviewing.

You're gonna have to be more specific than that to convince me. How does a few 'goofs behind the microphone' = bad character?

I can not believe people are willing to sacrifice the integrity of the program for more wins. This you tube clip pales in comparison to the things I have read about this coach. I am proud to be a graduate of Tech, and will not let some idiot like this come in and ruin the good name of the program at. People need to take a step back and remember that Tech has always been about winning the right way. You have to have class to do it, and Muschamp has demonstrated time and again that he has none.

I don't really have an opinion on this whole thing yet. But, just out of curiosity, what kind of stuff have you read? Can you throw us some links?

I've been around college football the last couple of years, and I'm not aware of any incidents beyond the one linked earlier. Whether or not you agree with Muschamp's language or his coaching ability, it's not like he was giving an interview when this clip was recorded. I was watching the game at the time, and it was an on field mic that didn't get turned off or was pointed the wrong way. Are you really going to hold him accountable to the PR rules during coaching when no one is supposed to be listening? If he said the same thing in an interview, then I'd have a problem.

I don't really have an opinion on Muschamp, but if he has so many goofs, please enlighten us.
