Honestly this feels like a dying rivalry. Pretty much any UGA fans who got into the rivalry are in nursing homes or ded.
 
That SEC Rant is a bunch of knuckleheads. With 7 pages of comments, there are a couple negative UGA comments, but for the most part they just don’t seem to care, are indifferent, or against Tech joining for financial reasons, not fear. It still irks me that our best selling ticket package every other year is the 3-pack that includes UGA and two crap games…I get it can be framed as us stealing money from uga fans, but the fact it has been deemed necessary is deflating.

I was surprised by how many fans of other SEC teams hold it against us for leaving the SEC…I’d figured that would only be a sore point for an in-state rival. I also really wonder how much of an impact it truly has on recruiting. These top-tier schools recruit nationally now. I think playing Ole Miss as a nationally televised night game does more for us than most B1G teams, with the notable exception of OSU, Michigan and Penn State. As for those teams, we’d likely play them here as often as we do ND…not much. Playing uga certainly hasn’t helped bring in the recruits.

Especially a new thread where you had nothing to say other than linking to an idiot secrant page. If you want to talk about the dwags, that’s what “A thread about UGA” is for. I don’t care if it gets to 1,000 pages, better than 1,000 dwag threads junking up the board.

The only real animus used to be the Mississippi schools. Auburn was flat out scared of our return in 1978 - we had beaten them at one point ~15 games in a row. In that 1978 vote we only had 3 no votes to burn. The MS schools and AU were no. UGA abstained, taking away our 7th vote. The really cowardly thing is it wasn’t even a no vote.
