For the first time since 'lil Joe left The Flats I am excited about the prospects for GT football. My only fear is the supposed sophomore jinx of a second year coach. (Good thing is this has never happened to a CPJ team)

09/05 - Jacksonville St.

This should be a good warm-up for our team. 52-14 (1-0)

09/10 - Clemson

This one will be much closer IMO than a lot of people think. Clemson is loaded with athletes on the defensive side of the ball. We pull away in fourth quarter. 31-21 (2-0)

09/17 - Miami

One of the two games on the schedule that scare the piss out of me. Playing against another athletic team except on the road this time. I think our dominance continues in this series with a tight one in Miami. 30-27 (3-0) We climb into the top ten of both polls for the first time in what feels like forever.

09/26 - North Carolina

CPJ owes one Butch Davis a good ass whoopin for what he pulled last year in Chapel Hill. 42-17 (4-0)

10/03 - Mississippi St.

Good guys are dragging after a BIG win last week against a conference foe. I have a lot of respect for Dan Mullin and what he has done down here for the Florida Gators. Close at half, but the good guys pull away at the end. 38-21 (5-0)

10/10 - Florida St.

I see us dropping this one in Tallahassee. Once again we are playing against a team full of athletes and on the road. Comes down to the very end in a shootout. 42-45 (5-1)

10/17 - Virginia Tech

CPJ makes it a habit of never losing 2 in a row and he continues this streak in a big way. 41-21 (6-1)

10/24 - Virginia

I hate to say it, but the dang curse continues in Hooville. CPJ will not break it until 2011. It doesn't help matters that we turn the ball over 6 times in a close one. 21-24 (6-2)

10/31 - Vandy

Once again CPJ doesn't lose 2 in a row. Our offense is hitting on all cylinders as we crank out no less than 450 rushing yards in a Halloween Treat!! 56-17 (7-2)

11/07 - Wake Forest

The two "odd" offense face off in a thriller in BDS. A lot of points are put on the board on this afternoon as neither defense can slow the other down. 48-38 (8-2)

11/14 - Duke

Cutcliffe has brought the Dookies along a lot better than most pundits believe. But the triple option is too much for them to handle. 33-10 (9-2)

11/28 - Georgie

Good Ole Fashioned Hate has built for another 365 days and a Good Ole fashioned ASS WHOOPIN is put on the mutts in a beautiful way. Three 100 yard rushers and a huge throwing day for Josh as we win HUGE 56-21 (10-2)

12/05 - Florida St.

We get the opportunity to seek revenge in Tampa against the Creminoles. This time we come out on fire and blow the Semiholes out in the ACCCG. 48-17 (11-2)

01/? - Orange Bowl

Whomever it may be, we get to 12 wins for the first time ever and finish in the top 5 and we look forward to making a run at a mythical national championship in '10!!

I don't think GT wins that big vs UNC.

I think they beat UVA

I don't think they win that big vs UGA.

It sounds like I'm predicting 11 wins.

Wow.

You realize you are predicting almost 42 points a game? Sorry, ain't gonna happen...

It may not, but its certainly a thought I could entertain based on the explosiveness of our offense. When was that last time you felt like that? Mine was ten years ago.

I sure hope the offense that played against UGA and Miami last year plays 11 or more games this year. I think we can do it, but it will take a lot.

Why it can't happen? This offense is ridiculous and I can assure that the Oline is blocker better and is nastier than last year. Plus the passing game is going to have the players/coaches ready to quit.

I will be presently surprised if we get to 9 regular season wins again.

I think the WF game will be a defensive struggle, but other than that I agree. You are really much smarter than your brother!

Good predictions. I disagree on a couple of points. I dislike making game by game predictions because I might look at 2 games and say we lose 1 of them without being able to decide which one but I'll give it a shot.

1. JSU: W 59-3. Not much to say about that one.

2.Clemson: W 21-17. Close call against a strong defense.

3. Miami: W 38-31. A mini-shootout.

4. UNC: W 28-10. Not this year.

5. Miss St: W 45-17. Weak SEC team.

6. FSU: L 31-35. Close but no cigar.

7. VT: W 24-10. We shut their offense down.

8. UVA: W 35-0. Yes I am serious.

9. Vandy: W 31-24. More trouble than they're worth.

10. Wake: L 24-28. Injuries cost us the game.

11. Duke: W 42-7. Its Duke.

12. UGA: W 38-28. We take control in the second half.

13. FSU: W 31-24. Fun thriller of a game.

14. OB: W 38-21. Who? Don't know. Don't care.

If we lose to Clemson I think it will quickly become a very long season....

This worries me too. Hopefully the leadership on the team is strong enough to get get a win at Miami if the worst happens against Clemson. I'm always worried about Clemson... can't get the image of Woody Dantzler running through our D in 2001 out of my head.

Turban,

I think we are all gonna be surprised at how many points we put on the scoreboard this year. I may have been a little overzeaulous, but I bet we average in mid 30's minimum.

I guess we will see.
