NCAA Asks US Appeals Court to Block Pay for Student-Athletes

I don't see this as hypocrisy. None of us have to "prove" our economic worth except to those willing to pay us. The issue is that these college athletes have an economic value to certain companies and individuals and the NCAA created a rule that they could not receive any financial benefit that accrues due to their name, image and likeness.
For those that are actually using it as intended and working for a living off the brand they created from their athletic prowess more power to them. For those getting paid to go play football, they’re very overvalued right now.

4 tickets is roughly $1K, food is let’s say $100 a game, fuel can’t be more than $50 a game. That’s $2K. Your time is opportunity cost and has nothing to do with actual $ spent. That leaves $2K-$3K for donation. I find it hard to believe someone who buys tickets in the cheapest section donates more 3X their ticket cost. Unless you just wanna make your dad suffer so you make him climb upper north.
I prefer end zone seats, especially being front row, just off center. I really dislike sideline seats. Plus, the facilities are nicer in the UN.

They are nicer in the upper north for sure. But I prefer a higher up sideline around the 40.

That last sentence is true. Most of the fans in UN have to wear depends so don’t have to pee standing next to @Architorture23 types.

I've said it on here before.....

My father and I attend games together. We've re-upped ST's this season. He's 80 years old. When he gets to the point he can't go anymore, I'm probably done completely with college football. All of it. It used to be an enjoyable Saturday on the flats. Head over the the Varsity. Go to the ballgame. Now, we have all this off the field stuff and you get bombarded with ads and pumped in noise like you are at a damn NBA game or something at the game. It is just getting damn unenjoyable.

I can see the day, soon enough, where my $4k-5k a season go towards a nice relaxing trip. Hell, with what I have spent on GT football over the decades would have gotten me a nice little cabin somewhere.
To be honest, the gameday experience is a bigger turn off to me than the NIL/transfer portal stuff. I’ve more or less tuned out recruiting and roster changes, which doesn’t bother me at all, as I’m more invested in the GT than the names on the jersey anyway. But all the in-game bullshit is terrible, as far from fan friendly as you can get.

It really shouldn’t be that hard. let the hands play a lot. Run out behind the wreck. Get the student sections involved, or competing. Blow the whistle. Play old highlights of the glory days During breaks. Bud song. Buzz. Honor ex players and others important to the program. Everything else deteriorates the experience.

I lost a lot of interest in attending games after my father passed away, I can totally relate. I still go to a couple of games each year typically; but gave up season tickets and haven't looked back. You will probably miss going the first year; after that...
