I was thinking today, I currently am on vacation, but I was thinking that we gt fans should obviously be the masterminds of this offense, and figure out to beat others with it depending on the defense they run
for instance

I played someone running a 335 stack the other day, and he ran a cover 3, DT in a spy, 2 de's in qb contain.....it was IMPOSSIBLE to run on him...the de's shot out to stop any pitches, and when he crowded the line it somehow just plain shut the entire option down....
I also noticed against the 3-4 its very hard to do pitches or option, unless u constalty do a dive...

I don't have the playbook in front of me but when I get back I was thinking of making a gameplan or something to help others/benefit myself
just wanted some input
thanks

Haven't been able to get my router to connect my new ps3 to the internet so I haven't played against humans yet lol. But I found that running "Triple option pass" and giving the dive or following the Bback with the quarterback on that play is deadly against the 3-4 or stacked outside defenses.

Also, the FB load option pass is gross... Just carry it out like it was a running play... the receivers run off the other players and the Quarterback is usually guaranteed 10 yards but if not, the pitch is there and it could go yard.

Yeah I noticed that as well
I was gonna take it all into practice mode when I get home and make a list of what works against what defense to help fellow gt TO runners out
and any contributions to this will be appreciated

I fully support this measure! I'm definitely finding I'm not as sharp against certain defenses. It would be cool if GT people got a reputation for being a tough game.

What team did he play? Is it the one where the CBs and a safety are playing the cover 3?

He was actually Miami FL...ran the eact same play the whole game, the only success I had was right up the middle cuz the DE's always jumped out in contain...but since he crowded the line i had trouble...

play actions didn't really work, i was thinking of trying to fake pitch and maybe the de would bite...
only one guy i played has done that tho
so im not gonna worry about it unless it becomes common

no cover 3, with 2 de's on contain, the dt in a spy.....he cheesed...was very not fun to play against

The only play I see with everything you are listing is named "3 Deep Contain" in the 3-3-5 stack formation.

it may not have been in the stack, like i said im not home currently and cant see the playbooks
ill get back to this on wednesday and formulate a gameplan somewhat if i can

Just some thoughts on that type of defense he is playing:

If he is in a 3-3-5, and puts the DE in contains and DT in spies, then he is effectively having a zero pass rush. You can attack Cover 3 with corner routes effectively. There is such a play in Flexbone Normal (in fact...I think its the deep pass audible).

But that's the issue in video games. IRL, our blockers would attack the linebackers...leave the DT alone, and Dwyer would be off to the races on every play.

Also, maybe try Flexbone Close and just overpower him? Put in Dwyer, Cox, and Jones. Turn on impact blocking, and run it right up the gut.

No idea how well any of this may work but, its worth a shot.

After 1+ years of playing my roommates daily they have become pretty adept at stopping me. They normally run 3-4 and bunch the DT's. They mix up coverages depending on down and distance. Stopping the dive is their #1 priority, which is correct philosophy against GT. Running plays I have success with are:
Trap option (usually keep)
Quick option to the numbers advantage side
A-back sweep (only from Close formation)

Passing is a different story. I can usually pass with ease against the 3-4. A-backs are usually open vs Man coverage because they are being covered by LB's. Against zone coverage look for seam routes and hook/comeback routes. The big problem here is that Nesbitt has major accuracy issues when he gets tired. I throw an INT 25% of the time on 20+ yard routes when he is tired, especially against good competition.

Hope this helps.
