ND needs to get in a division or GTFO

So they make more money, and they are more likely to make it to the playoffs than if they were in a conference.

You make a really strong argument for them joining one.
Correct. If I am notre dame I will never join a conference as long as the system is rigged to always include ND if they can. It's the system I'm bitching about that gives ND it's unfair advantage.

The only way they will join is if they get left out several years with the identical loss record as a conference champion.

The will eventually have to join the ACC as a full member. They have made the CFB Playoff Committee look like fools twice already.
The CFB Playoff Committee is going to make them play by the same rules as everyone else:
1. "Win your damn half of your conference."
2. "Win your damn conference championship game."
3. "And then we will CONSIDER you!"

They were undefeated and gave Clemson a better game than Alabama. How does that make the committee look like fools?

And I don't think they've been in the playoff before then. They DID play in the National Championship against Alabama, when they went undefeated and beat 3 conference champions in the regular season.

I'd be happy with just kicking out both Wake and BC tbh. They're both garbage across the board. Getting ND in and as a permanent opponent would be a bonus
Careful. You just described Tech's current state as well. #bigcry

As long as they keep playing a tough schedule, I have no problem with their arrangement. History shows it is strong enough to deserve a chance at the playoffs.

ain't happening, they'll always get pfd treatment, big part of their fan base in NY and NE.
I was mad as hell when the NC mafia made the ACC deal, but our conference needed the money I'm guessing and they do fill a stadium.

They always have a quality schedule. I think ND earns what it gets.

“They gave Clemson a better game than Bama. Really?? So did Syracuse.

Which conference would ND win this year?
ACC? Certainly not.
Big 10? Nope
SEC ? They wouldn’t win the East or West
Big 12? Nope
PAC 10? Maybe?? But that’s not saying much. The CFB Committee doesn’t think much of the PAC-10 for good reason. They’re weak.

Notre Dame is way overrated. They don’t belong in the CFB playoff discussion until they man up and win a conference, which they can’t do.

New division alignment:

Atlantic:
FSU
Miami
NCSt
WF
Syracuse
Pitt
BC
Notre Dame

Coastal:
Clemson
GT
Duke
UNC
UVA
VPI
Louisville
Cincinnati

~nine conference games
~seven inter division
~two cross division, rotate home/away every two years, no permanent cross division rival
~division record determines division winner and ACCCG (not totally sold on this one, but it kinda makes sense)

They would win our division and play Clemson in the CG. With the planets aligning just right the ACC could get two in. A close one loss ND would look a lot more attractive than a two loss Conference champion or runner up.

The ACC getting 2 teams in? Over the SEC? That planetary alignment might happen once in a couple of decades. But I guess anything is possible.

I dunno -- we need all the wins we can get :dunno:

ND will do what they think is best for ND. So far, one foot in/one foot out should be looking pretty good to them.

Except they are better than most teams and you’re fundamentally wrong.

Please tell me where the leprechaun touched you inappropriately.

ND hasn’t won anything in ages. They have been embarrassed on the national stage over and over. Hell we have a more recent National Championship than they do. Notre Dame is a relic of a program. It’s over. Done. They are like Mickey Mantle stumbling around in the outfield in 1968. An embarrassment when they play in big games. Clemson and Alabama used them as a literal punching bag.

Watched espns CFB Playoff Show last evening. ND making playoffs was main topic of discussion.

Unbelievable..

The question to me isn’t about n.d., but whether the ACC is so weak that it allows a “member” to choose how they will take the good / bad from being a member.
