She has the special gift that all great coaches have. Not many people have it.

I believe she would be great at coaching any sport. If she were named our head football coach:

- It would be the lead story on every sports show.

- Everybody in the country would be watching every game we play next year.

- Sisters, mothers, girl friends and others would encourage a lot of high school stars to come to Tech.

And here's my favorite part. She would win big.

She may not have experience coaching football, but she knows how to handle people and hire great assistants.

Some of the best women's basketball coaches are men, so why shouldn't a great female coach get a chance at football?

To Nell With Georgia!

Obviously, this is just a silly joke, but seriously, could she really do any worse of a job?

I know everybody thinks this is a joke, but I'm dead serious. I have watched all her press conferences and videos on YouTube, including the one in which she was inducted into the Texas sports Hall of Fame. She has the intangible quality that makes coaches great. She knows how to achieve goals through coaching. What we have lacked for three years is great, winning leadership. She would provide that. I would be really excited to watch her coach our football team. She would do a great job. It would be a great thing for Tech. The more I think about it, the more I like it. She would put a very well coached team on the field. She would put fans in the stands. And she would win more than we've gotten used to around here right away.

I think there are more direct ways to take care of your boner for her than trying to convince us she should be the football coach

Well, she did coach a series of plays in last year's spring game, and, as I remember, she did pretty good. So you might be onto something. However, I think she might make a better AD, because I think she has some common sense.

What exactly are you partaking in this evening?

Did you fall down the stairs or something? Take a 8 iron up against the skull? What happened?

Now that we've all had a good laugh, what about her and Pastner switching duties? That would probably be a good test of theory.

Nell Fortner for Head Mens Basketball Coach! We can get Jeff Monken and immediately compete for the ACC and Peach & OB... See 2008 & 2009

Well, you are probably on to something or on something. We know we have to sift through the bargain bin for a "normal" football coach. We went the different route before and had success, so why not try it again?

Have you paused to consider that the reason she’s a good WBB coach isn’t just because she has the magic coaching gene but also because she knows something about WBB?
