New Gold?

I'd be surprised if this shade ends up used as the primary shade of gold in the football uniforms. I like it though and I'd like to be wrong.

If that’s the gold (which I like a lot), I don’t think you’ll see gold jerseys very often. That will look fantastic though in a gold white gold uniform with navy accents. If you do see gold jerseys it will be with a white helmet if I had to guess.

I’m also thinking that navy is about to be a lot more prevalent.

GT has got to have the gayest fans in all of CFB. We have a new color shade or uniform look argument every day.

Gold jerseys should only be worn with white helmets, IMO, since they will never reflect light properly and will look like different shades in the light - even if they perfectly match the pigments on a spectrophotometer. At work, we have samples of different cross sections using the exact same pigment that look like entirely different colors because of how light is reflected back off the surface. We can get close, but I think it is just easier, and looks better, to stick with white helmets when we wear gold jerseys.

A lot of fans have the same discussions. Clemson does with purples and oranges and when they should wear purple jerseys or pants or whatever. UGAg likes getting blown out by Alabama while wearing their black funeral attire. I think it is cool to mix it up.

Navy and Army seem to do specialty jerseys the best. Maryland looks so bad that it should force UA into bankruptcy.

Good, back to being a darker Gold and perhaps getting closer to the greatest jersey we have worn in the past 25 years, the Calvinball one against UVA
What? The gold on the ramblin wreck is not dark

The
It looks like it’s around the color of the pennants on the Wreck.

Edit. Nevermind it’s the Wreck body but nonmetallic.
Gold on the cleats is what they're are looking for. It looks like the body of the ramblin wreck

I'll have to see the pants in action in that shade. Some people will absolutely hate it. My worry is that we do something stupid like gold hats, white shirts and navy pants. I agree that the days of gold shirts are probably done.

This is probably pretty close

And before everyone bitches about matching, Notre Dame makes zero effort in matching the helmet to the pants since they go with the gold flake helmets

What do you think might be pretty close? The hat or pants?

There are times / angles that n.d. pants looks green to me.

From Wikipedia: Old gold is a dark yellow, which varies from light olive or olive brown to deep or strong yellow, generally on the darker side of this range. The first recorded use of old gold as a color name in English was in the early 19th century (exact year uncertain).
