Joey Freshwater said after the game last year that he took it easy on Geoff because he felt bad for him. It was enough to call emergency meetings with boosters and get Geoff & T Stan canned. I can’t thank him enough for that. Here’s to hoping Key can get the boys fired up for another top 25 underdog moment.

This can’t be understated. Get through a half of ball and see what happens. Tech is still under the radar even though the offense is much better.

GT’s defense looks very suspect so far. They lack the basic skills of playing defense, which reminds me of how poorly they played when Collins was still around. Too many alligator arm tacklers, so it looks ridiculous and it should be embarrassing to them. Plus, they can’t get enough pressure on the QB. The SCS offense was horrible but the D made them look better way too often.

The offense looks much better but I don’t know if it’s good enough yet to overcome consistent sub par defensive play. With unforced errors, the offense missed out on 2-3 more TDs yesterday. Can’t miss those if the O has to keep up score for score against better teams. It could be a long season unless the D suddenly learns how to do what defensive players are supposed to do - tackle.

Bottomline seems to be, we added good transfers on the O side and none on the D side and it is hurting us. We needed at least one stud DL and LB. It isn’t the NFL, you cannot add players during the year so we might be screwed.

This is already year 5.

Now that we’ve settled the food issue. I think Saturday may get ugly. Miss D may be in our backfield all day and we will never sniff theirs. That’s not a recipe (food pun) for a competitive game.

Good idea. For the offense I would suggest Charge Of The Light Brigade by Alford Lord Tennyson. For the defense it’s a little bit tougher how about Invictus by William Henley.

I think Key will be successful. O will be stout overall. This season was always going to be challenging on D. We lost too many playmakers off last year’s D with too few equal or better players. This year’s W/L was always about 2 questions: Can the OL step up, and can the D come close to last year. The first answer looks to be happening. The second….
