Next year

Let's hope CPJ shits out some new O-Linemen if we want to have a winning season next year.

Just need a few of the one-score games to go in GT's favor, gain confidence and momentum, then steal an unexpected win. Done.

If Sewak isn't fired, all bets are off.

We can sure hope to get that many wins with another year under our guys belts.

Need the OL to improve. That's really the difference between being 3-8 and 8-3 right now. Which is absurd both because how many close games we've been in with JT running for his life and the fact that the OL was supposed to be a strength coming into the season.

Agree we need a new OL coach, but at the same time, the players continue to get owned. The problems lie past just Sewak. I'm under the belief that if it were a 'fixable' problem, CPJ would have stepped right over Sewak mid-way through the season, taken over how the OL is managed, and improvements would be measurable. Hasn't happened.

A level of talent issue, perhaps? I'm just sayin'.

Start 3-0 and we just might win 9 or more. Start 2-1 and we will struggle to get much above .500. Start 1-2 and we will have a hard time matching this year's win total. The BC and Vandy games are huge. We will open with a team that has had a terrible year in the ACC on a neutral field. Then Mercer is followed by a weak SEC team at our place. Early losses to ND and Duke shattered this team's confidence. Early losses next year will do the same.

Turnovers are huge. Last year, we got a bunch more than we gave up, and we got a lot of scores directly off those - Quayshawn at Tulane, DJ at NC State, PJ Davis at Va Tech, Quayshawn at NC State, Milton and Golden vs Clemson. Those are the ones that come to mind.

If we cut down on turnovers, we've got a much better chance of success. If we flip the turnover ratio back in our favor, and we're -4 for the year, I think, that will be a big difference.

No idea what to expect next year. This year defied my logical mind, so I am just going to show up and hope for the best.

9 should be the goal and hopefully more:

Sept. 3 vs. Boston College (Dublin, Ireland)
Sept. 10 Mercer
Sept. 17 Vanderbilt
Nov. 19 Georgia Southern
Nov. 26 at Georgia

then the regular:
Clemson
at VT
UVA
at Pitt
Miami
at UNC
Duke

Most any program would have run Sewak out on a rail by now. We should as well, but I think he is doing exactly what CPJ wants done. So there is perhaps the bigger problem. We shall see.

This year is the worst, so far, PPG allowed since CPJ arrived. That includes Tulane & alcorn games. We have to improve on D, but the O we run, I truly believe now, precludes us from being able to see that improvement.

I do not know how many times in preseason, and during the season, the # 1 & 2 units scrimmage each other. But when they do our D is going against the TO I would assume. If so, no help there.

The 1s go up against each other about once a week, mostly in situational stuff, once the season starts. Once you get to about two weeks before the season starts, from that point on, that's about the only time they run 1v1 or 2v2 in live practice. The D will get situational looks against more traditional offenses too.

At least that's my experience from seeing a couple of hundred practices during PJ's time at GSU.
