Neyland Stadium $106M renovations fully funded by donations

It's about time the stadium was renovated. A lot of the cement foundations date back to 1925 and the restrooms need to be updated from being troughs
 
Public donations require 2 things: the athletic department has to reach out to the public, and they have to provide an incentive for donating. Tennessee loves Butch Jones and they are happy to be relevant again. They believe he is good for the long-term of the program. Donating is easy.

If the GTAA wants a publicly funded locker room, or anything else for that matter, it just takes providing a reason to donate - what the locker room will contribute to - and reaching out. I haven't gotten any calls about it.
 
Rumor has it that a big portion of the funding came from one donor...

Yep. Neyland before the latest upgrades of 5 or so years back was embarrassing. It was in horrible shape. Awful restrooms and concessions. It was much improved my last trip up a few years ago.

Tennessee needs to use some of their money to install some of the new artificial turf around today. The natural turf in Neyland is in horrible shape and totally unacceptable
