NFL Prospects

Is there any chance Days/Laskey/Waller/Mason get drafted?

And on the opposite side of the ball does Golden or Nealy have a shot at being drafted?

No/No/maybe/yes

Maybe and no

Only locks are probably Smelt and Mason...

Well, JT would have probably been a DB/return man for Bama, so I don't think it's that inconceivable.

But didn't he transfer here because Saban wouldn't let him play QB and PJ would? So that makes me think he's not too fond of playing DB.

Right. He wants to prove himself at QB, but if his best chance at the next level ends up being at a different position, I doubt he would just turn down the NFL because he's "not too fond of playing DB."

Similar to Brian Mitchell who played QB in college but will likely be in the HOF as a special team specialist.

Mason and Smelter are the first 2 to go, in my opinion. I also think Golden has a good shot at being picked before the late rounds. Days/Laskey/Waller will find homes in the NFL after the draft.

Waller should focus on being evaluated as a TE

+1. He has played in our O for 5 years and has been taught to block. He has good size and hands but not WR speed. I think he could be a great pass catching NFL TE.

Golden needs to get bigger and more physical.

Waller will depend on combine. Will catch on somewhere as a project at min8mum.

3 pages and nobody mentions Golden is only a JR! He will be playing on the Flats next year, not in the NFL!!

Smelter 3-4, mason 5-7, waller may get udfa.

This seems to be the round we always pigeon hole our players. If you have a question about top end speed go and watch the reverse vs. UNC. I an easy 4.4 at 220-225lbs. Also, to ask Waller to focus on TE is blasphemous! The league is looking everywhere for guys like him

I agree I'm not sure why people think Smelter is a step slow. I've said all along that I think his combine speed will surprise people.

Here's how it breaks down for me:

Smelter: Potential for mid-1st, probable 2nd, 3rd at worst
Mason: Potential for 3rd, probable 4th-5th, 7th at worst
Waller: potential for 6th, probable UDFA
Johnson: potential for 7th, probable UDFA
Green: potential for UDFA
Nealy: potential for 5th, probable 6th, UDFA at worst
Laskey:low potential for UDFA
Days:low potential for UDFA
