Nine years of the CPJ offense, how has it evolved?

What was interesting was how different the play calling was against VT with our backup QB. It was almost all QB keeper or dive play.

It's the same play. Man, how have you watched this offense this long and not picked up on the basics?

It's not the same play. Midline is different from QB follow which is different from Inside Veer which is different from Inside Zone.

We can run these four plays all in a row and most of our fan base thinks it's the same play but with the QB keeping some plays and giving others.

those are all different plays, but the above play does look like midline to me, and it's the same midline that Josh ran in 08 and 09 with the AB ISO.

And we ran about 6 or 7 times vs VT this past year.

Yeah, the DT definitely got optioned on that play. He took the dive.

Are you a young offense believer or believe its taken this offense millions of years to get this point?
According to CPJ it has only been 9 or so season, but if you ask the CPJ haters its been a really long time and they don't want to acknowledge him as coach.

I guess I should have said how restrictive our play calling was with the backup QB.
CPJ has said on multiple occasions you have to limit yourself to what they player is capable of doing. He isn't going to call plays for Jordan they way he did Thomas.

I thought he was saying the run by Matthew Jordan against Virginia Tech was a midline. It was not. It was a QB follow. Both the playside guard and playside tackle block the defensive tackle and defensive end, and the B Back runs a blocking track through the B gap, rather than a midline path through the A gap. There was no defender being optioned on the play; it was a QB run all the way.

His long TD run was indeed QB follow. But I do think we ran midline in that game too. Haven't watched it in a couple months though.

I think cpj has a million different play books, all for a different quarterback. I feel like the options he has ran have all been completely different from one another each qb change. If MJ gets the job, I think we will see a full circle and get back to the JFN days. Especially with a Dwyer like bback.

lol CPJ doesn't have a playbook. That would require playSHEETS.

If CPJ was at Oklahoma or Clemson or Florida, etc...he'd easily win a National Championship. Once this offense gets the horses, show's over.

Um no. He'd have full on player revolt for not showcasing their skills to the NFL. They would sabotage the season somehow.

Its no different. The only tweak i see is some things on pass pro. Otherwise its the same O. What plays he calls will vary depending on qb and ol. But its the same o.

We need a 6'3" 220 lb. version of JTsmoove, who can run like the wind and throw the ball all over the field.
