No more Musburger salivating about SEC on air

What does he know about sports handicapping? Or is he just going to be the "face"?

Just because he's watched a lot of football doesn't qualify him to handicap it.

I think you meant to say no more Mustburger salivating over SEC QB's girlfriends on air? In all fairness, she was worthy.

Musburger is a sad case. I hate nearly every active announcer with a white-hot passion which, so far, has not yielded the ability to choke someone with my mind - but I liked Brent for a long time, even after he seemed to start catching a lot of shit. Over time he seemed to become like Lundquist, just as drunk but with more cocaine.

I liked Musburger. Wasn't he the announcer for Tech national championship victory at the Citrus Bowl? I was there so ...... but on replay he was very complimentary and I always thought he did a good job - even as he aged. I don't like many announcing teams and particularly Lundquist and the idiot side kick -Danielson? Lundquist should stick to golf. My favorite of all time was Nessler, Griese, and McGuire. Good mix of on point (Nessler), very serious (Griese) and funny guy McGuire who also made good observations. McGuire was so on target when we beat FSU the first time with Johnson about how Tech had the FSU linemen so po'ed and confused as to what to do with Dwyer.

He was a good one in his day. Maybe one of the best. But that was many moons ago. Maybe he got a nudge out the door, but he should have retired during his last broadcast. Adios! Take Jessssssssseeeeeccccccc Palmer with you.

I wouldn't be surprised if he was pressured into retirement due to his Joe Mixon comments during the Sugar Bowl.

So long Brent. We'll always have your drunk coverage of the '14 Orange Bowl.

<3

Leaving me dazed. And it's spelled differently.

Here is the advice from his sports handicapping service

"SEC!"

First time CPJ beat UGA he referred to Dwyer and White as 'two very special young men' during the warmup to the game. Liked him for that, even though we already knew it!

Musburger used to live in my neighborhood (The Landings on Skidaway Island) down here in Savannah. My cousin actually ran over his dog with his golf cart. Musburger was pissed.

Yeah. A lot of guys who stick around that long become parodies of themselves by the end.
