No Way We Allow Duke, UNC, &VA To Hold Us Hostage, Leave Now!!*

SoGa, I do not know all the particulars/ramifications, but at first glance, my gut says, "more power to you". I don't like to picture Tech being pushed around.....but what do I know?

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">It's not just Tech being pushed around. If this doesn't work out, what happens to Tech. Nothing. We're still in the 9 team ACC. Miami, OTOH, has to stick it out as an independent, find another conference that appreciates their value, or go back to the Big Least with it's tail between it's legs.

This is what happens when the bullied (Nan and Moeser) get a chance to be the bullies. With 2 small votes they hold all of the power and they're not being shy about it.

But back to the original post - what good would it do if we left the conference? Go back to being an independent? Yeah, great idea

- most of you (with this suggestion) must not rememember the last time we tried that. It almost earned our athletic department D1 extinction. The fact is F$U would be the only team that could survive being an independent at this point - but another conference would surely take them in whereas we don't have that guarantee. By most accounts, if expansion doesn't happen this time around, most conferences (read: Big East) change the by-laws to make it nearly impossible to leave. So, there goes the pipe dream of the non-tobacco road teams and the football playin' Big Least teams forming an altogether new conference.
 
Please pardon me. I did not think about going independent........absolutely right; a nightmare indeed!!!! Wish it had succeeded, but proven, that we are not that calibre!! We should never again consider that!! Sorry if I intimated such.
