Not Feeling So Bad About Our Performance now...

After seeing all the shenanigans transpire today, I'm not feeling so bad about the performance on Thursday now. Seems like there were a ton of close calls and some top 25 teams even lost like the Pokes. We definitely have a lot of things to improve, but week 2 just showed how even some heavily favored teams can topple. For example, FSU-JSU, seriously??? Or Maryland/JMU??? Even the Mutts almost lost.

I was going to post something like this. I feel a lot better about playing Miami, FSU, and North Carolina; all games I wasn't so sure of.

I am convinced more than ever that no game is predictable and that any outcome is possible in any game we play. North Carolina and FSU stunk today, but they could damn well kick our asses if we don't kick theirs.

Same here.

I jumped the gun on judging GT's team for their performance and I'll admit right here.

I was wrong.

Yup, any given game, anything could happen. I just hope we execute like we did in the 1q from here on out. I'm all for kicking all their asses first. At least Clemson is not a mid major team.

Other than the passing game...our overall performance wasn't so bad.

I think we have to give credit to Clemson's Defense. They did a good job of shutting us down.

Everyone keeps saying how we dominated the first half, but I'm not sold on that. We had 1 big run and then a Trick Play and PR. That's not so dominating.

As far as Defense, the stats aren't very telling of the game. They're offense was sort of like ours for the most part. The QB did a great job of picking up the schemes and attacking it. He caught us in the perfect formation to keep running that wheel route and the long pass to Ford had to do with the same thing. You can't have a LB covering an ALL American WR 40 yds down field. Burnett waited too long to adjust and get to the ball.

In all, I was more impressed with the fact that we didn't quit.

We deserved that game and took it. 3,4,5 yrs ago we would have quit as soon as they got it to within 3 pts.

I'm actually impressed with the game other than Nesbitt's passing

Admit you were wrong when you said Josh Nesbitt was an embarrassment for celebrating after the Clemson game.

Nesbitt should've celebrated as much as anyone. You can't dwell on the negative. he did a great job of putting the game on his back and driving the ball down the field and making the plays that were needed. Period.

He should celebrate as much as anyone else.

I'm sure you don't care that you just got off my list, but I'm equally sure you feel better after admitting your mistake. We all have to eat crow from time to time. Proud of you gsu.

I'm feeling a lot better about our performance after seeing the jax st/fsu game. we've still got a long way to go though.

I have no problem admitting when I'm wrong.

I do, however, develop a problem with it when the other party/(ies) can't man up themselves.

You know who those are.

Clemson certainly looked better than anybody else in that god-forsaken division so far. Although it's tough starting 0-1, I see them winning all five intradivision games at this point, including FSU.

Including BC? Granted they haven't played anyone, but they haven't looked bad either.

Well one thing I've learned following college football is that you CANNOT judge a team's overall abililty & performance by how they play the first 2 or 3 games of the season. UVA looked terrible last year to start the season, yet they beat us. That's just one example. Teams progress & get better and teams suffer huge insurmountable injuries, adversity. So much can happen.

With that said, we've got a tough game Thursday night with one of the best QBs in the conference. Harris is the real deal. I just hope our O can keep pace with theirs.
