Not sure I agree with this article.

I wonder how many missed assignments we had in 09' at Miami.

They beat the hell out of us but we had a few late passing TD's to make the score respectable.
Nice call -- I had forgotten that game
While that may be historically and coincidentally true, I refuse to believe the reason for the loss has anything to do with media love.

Correlation vs causation, amirite?

Notre Dame is good, but I am not convinced they won't lose 2-3 games this year. They had a fantastic game against us, however, some here are putting them way too far up on a pedestal.

Agree with this...

Notre Dame didn't manhandle us we sort of manhandled ourselves.

This. This. This. I don't care how shitty the outcome was. We played like T total öööö, they played out of their minds, and the score was 16-7 going into the 4th quarter. Yes they were knocking on the door going into the 4th, but don't forget the 6 we left on the board in the 1st half or the 3 we spotted them opening the third. It could have just as easily been 13-13 going into the 4th without those 3 mistakes alone, regardless of how poorly we played. Third game of the season, first game against a quality opponent, and people think the sky is falling because we didnt hang a big number on the scoreboard.

So much this.

Clemson had a good D line last year and we managed about the same output on O, so I am not hugely worried.

What is a concern is that we couldn't take advantage of ND completely ignoring our passing game. Connect on 2 more abacks streaking up the middle and we don't look so bad.

Actually... That's the weird part. It really doesn't seem like hardly anyone around here has that attitude.

we couldn't because Jaylon Smith could run step-for-step with our streaking A-Backs.

You should check their schedule. They only play Clemson, USC, and a giant pile of patsies.

Stanford and Navy aren't patsies this year and I'd put Temple in the non-patsies category this year.

That being said, I think the only thing DeShone Kizer showed ND fans they need to worry about is game experience and decision-making. He's got the necessary skills to carry the load, and the defense is still full of playmakers.

The O-Line will carry them in many games.
