Notre Dame Nightmare

i put a lot of stock into talent evaluations, no doubt. but more than stars, i like to look at the other offers that the kids had as well. a 4* with smaller school offers (ex. Art Forst out of NJ) isn't as intriguing to me as a 2* with elite offers (ex. OL Alex Hurst out of TN this year). but, i AM assuming that these kids are maturing and being developed. Wheeler was a scout 2* and a rivals 3* (again, proving rivals was more correct).... he has, however, performed like a 4*. you always have exceptions to the rule like Wheeler, but in general, rankings are a pretty good judgement of talent.... just look at USC -- they reel in the 4/5* guys and they are always in the top 3.

ND doesn't have any 5* LB's... or any 4* LB's for that matter. in fact, their highest recruited LBs on the depth chart (Crum and Toryan Smith) were both 3*. they have a couple of 4* freshmen, but they are freshmen and wont have an impact until later in the season (if any at all). that's why i said GT is far more talented at LB than ND.

Breaker, breaker...just to say this is a great thread guys. I love the intelligent discussion. Keep it going. And thanks for joining us IOM.

i love talking football with fans from the other team. i'm a college football fan, and i just love shooting the breeze and learning more by every post. plus, it doesnt hurt that the fans on this board are as classy as they come.

Give us long enough and we'll annoy the hell out of you.

It's easy to act classy with a good font like yourself. However, let a dawg come on this board talking trash and this crowd would make Michael Vick look like a pet lover.

yeah... i thought ND fans hated USC and UM fans....

but its nothing compared to UGA/GT, lol... you guys are nuts.

i had a bad nightmare monday night about gt going to ND and gt is up 17-10 at d half but ND comes back to win 27-24

Also remember Jamal Lewis (All-ACC last year) was a 2* by rivals. Choice was only a 3* on rivals and he lead the ACC in rushing last year with 1400+ yards. Getting high profile guys with 4* & 5* is always great, but it is not the end all.

anthony vernaglia... he was listed more as an athlete than a LB. however, he was put as a LB at ND. and yeah, he's insanely athletic, but he's been a bust thus far. he's struggling for a spot as an OLB, but i doubt he makes it. he's one of the bigger busts in recent ND history.... and that's why i forgot to mention him, lol.

I had a dream that Jeff Goldblum and I were sitting in a group of six chairs. A giant hoofed demon was walking around us. Jeff told me not to worry, that the demon couldn't pick me up, because he would topple over on such small hooves. So I got up and the demon threw me into a vat of boiling oil.

This dream tells me two things,
1) Demons have excellent balance
2) Jeff Goldblum is a prick

Damn Wracer, Jeff was telling you that as long as you sat down he couldn't pick you up. When you stood you made it easier for him. Its all your own fault. At least thats what Jeff told me.

I had a dream that my wife was the brazillian model Alexandra Allesandrio and we were traveling the world in an attempt to have sex in every City on every continent in the world. I woke up and realized that she was not my wife nor was I traveling abroad. I never said anything about the dream, and to this day, my wife is still not Alexandra and I'm still stuck in Georgia.

Logical fallacy

He only said that it would not come true if you told the dream. That isn't the same as coming true by not telling the dream.

What you need to do is to have a dream where Alexandra is not your wife. You are not traveling the world and not having sex. Then tell that dream over breakfast.

Re: Logical fallacy

Well, I've had plenty of those dreams too and talked about them over breakfast. Still, nothing...

Well then, she must be having dreams about you. And she keeps telling her friends before breakfast.

It's the only logical explanation.
