The MNC was out of reach after the BC loss. The ACC is 100% out of reach now. What do we play for now? Pride? There is still the annual State game, but that will only inspire our players so much. Do we make a coaching change now? Do we sit all of our seniors and let the freshman get their time in? What do we do? Inquiring minds want to know (what's that phrase from anyway? I can't remember.)

Well, think you still want to try and win out. Yeah, you won't make a BCS game, but nobody wants to lose. Don't agree with benching the seniors, but I do think you need to get some playing time for the younger guys. At this point, think you need to really open up the offense some...And yes, you need to beat UGAg.

Not 100%. Did you not see the Atlantic division last year?

Again, this about covers it although there may be a few seniors playing like sophomores who could use a little bench time.

My biggest fear at this point is that Chan pulls a W over the leghumpers out of his ass at the end of the season and he stays.

I believe he may need at least seven more wins to go along with it.

I think the only thing that could save him now is a win over UGA or an extremely unlikely OB berth.

The ACCCG was out of reach after the UVA loss. Our only goal remaining this year is to beat UGA. And that was pre-Clemson.

From what's been said recently by certain posters, even a win over UGA won't solidify his position. Winning out would probably get him a ticket back, but that's unlikely to happen and still only 50% likely to help.

Good points. I don't have the answers to my own questions which is why I made the post. I'm hoping someof you more seasoned fans can give me your insight. As a die-hard Tech fan, there's not much that could keep me from WANTING to watch every game. I'll still be at the Army and UGA games.

I've never been a 1-11, but as long as we beat UGA it's okay kind of guy. Far too Jan Brady mentality for me.

You go get ready to play @Miami and try to move to 4-3. You prepare your team to come out and play 60 minutes of football --come out of the gate ready to play --don't commit stupid mistakes (fumbling punts, holding) at the end of the game to cost your team a W.

As a head coach you learn that it's probably not a good idea to go NFL and play for a 40+ field goal at the end of a game --you're relying on a college kid to give you the W --not a professional kicker who get paid $100's of thousands of dollars to do a job.
UT scored again -- 28-zippo

That is my fear as well. I have to pull for Tech to lose--and maybe lose out, so that we can be shed of this albatross. Good is the enemy of great. 6 or 7 wins a year keeps him here and keeps us mediocre. THWG now stands for To Hell With Gailey.

Then screw you and your philosophy. I will NEVER pull for Tech to lose. Feel free to go bark like a dawg.

It's already been stated the return of Gailey is unlikely. Seats will become rather empty next year if he returns following one or more losses.

I don't care what your problems are with the coach - I can't ever pull for this team to lose. You really want Choice to lose the remainder of his college games just so our coach is fired? Wheeler? All the others? You want our recruiting to lose all the momentum that we currently have? I want him gone too, but I have to say that you are a pretty ****ty fan if you want our team to lose ANY game...

Pull for Tech to lose? Get serious. Never! Not even when BL was coach.

Im at least pulling for a trip to pocatella after a win over UGA..

That's pitiful. Chan is likely gone unless we win out, including beating ugag. If we do that, it will mean we have to take the shackles off the offense and play to win instead of playing conservatively. If we can let the offense play and end up 9-3 then Chan will deserve to stay.

If you're going to pull for Tech to lose out or to lose any particular game for that matter, you aren't a Tech fan and never have been. Hating a coach is one thing. Pulling against the team is dispicable.
