Occasionally the Radio Guys are Right

Yesterday afternoon radio talk show host was basically pissed at CGC. Why? 10 penalties. The real reason was that they had CGC on 2 years ago and they addressed the high rate of penalties that Tech had. CGC said "Yes we are working on that."
2 years and nothing has changed.

Its strange because its different penalties (i believe 2 years ago we were pissed about all of the dead ball penalties), and new issues like punting rather than placekicking, like ööööing whack-a-mole. Of course, ööööty timeouts have been consistent

why not make the hometown team the hometown team? we used to be
That’s easy. Back when we were “the hometown team “ there were no Braves, Falcons, or Hawks. and we were beating the University of Georgia like a drum.

Professional franchises compete for money on entertainment. Dan Radakovich cited that is one reason he took the Clemson job, if I remember correctly.

I know some of you guys absolutely love your Braves and your Falcons. But that’s the truth.

Grain of truth to this.

Atlanta United entered a brand new market where people were already interested in soccer but didn’t quite have any allegiances. So they filled that demand. Then they went ahead and also won the biggest trophy in their league in their inaugural year. There’s no such thing as becoming Atlanta’s team when it comes to cfb because cfb is not a brand new market, it’s over a century old and most people who watch it already have their allegiances. The only way you build your fanbase up in CFB is to make it interesting, appealing to your students and win games. Money needs to be spent on buying a great coaching staff as well as players, also you need to create an amazing game day experience for your students and your other fans. It has to be a fun place to go to. We have none of these things at Tech. It’s a terrible experience for students and fans, the team sucks on the field, and rather than focusing on building on tradition and brand recognition, we do stupid öööö like put 404 signs on blue jerseys like anybody in Atlanta gives a öööö. And then we ask stupid questions like why can’t we be Atlanta’s team, or we say stupid things like oh let’s go to big10, they’ll want us for the Atlanta market. News flash, we’re not Atlanta’s team and we don’t own Atlanta market, maybe we own 30% of East Cobb. Things are a lot simpler than they’re made to be.
