I'll say it: Chip Long is a downgrade at OC

The plays seem more coherent than they did under Pnode, but we aren't scheming anyone open and, as I pointed out when his hire was announced, what scheme we do have doesn't match the personnel. Tulane is 3-0, so all evidence points to Chip having been the problem there. His success as a coordinator was under offense minded, control freak HCs. He was probably OC like Pat Nix was our OC when everyone knows Gailey was pulling the strings.
 
I've been underwhelmed, but the constant is Collins. We have, or have had, a number of assistants who were successful at other places and sought after. That makes Collins' tenure all the more damning, really.
 
Zero creativity to get players open. Then when we do get players in space in 1 on 1 matchups, they get tackled easily. Awful to watch.
 
When are people going to realize you will never win with this coaching staff that continues to play Sims and say he is getting better. Just stupidity. Those he should be fired tonight are Stansbury, Collins, Thacker and Key! You can not judge Long based on the lack of talent!

Tulane just had a big win today. They're likely thinking they upgraded at OC

When you have Brent key as a Oline coach and Jeff Sims as your QB, why is this his fault? He will prob quit b4 Clown is fired because he never stood a chance.... come on man

The environment and process under Collins seems so fundamentally flawed that it would be difficult for any coach to be successful in it. That's not letting the assistants and coordinators off the hook, but just an acknowledgment that there's little hope for improvement until there's turnover at the top.

Even if you have zero confidence in your starter, you say you have confidence in your starter. This is Head Coaching 101.
 
Throwing all over the field was there. But sims was sims and we wouldn’t change.
