I'll say it: Chip Long is a downgrade at OC

The plays seem more coherent than they did under Pnode, but we aren't scheming anyone open and, as I pointed out when his hire was announced, what scheme we do have doesn't match the personnel. Tulane is 3-0, so all evidence points to Chip having been the problem there. His success as a coordinator was under offense minded, control freak HCs. He was probably OC like Pat Nix was our OC when everyone knows Gailey was pulling the strings.

Nah, we have players mailing it in. Long isn’t producing, but not enough players seem to care.

This is what I was afraid of. Yes, some bad coaches got run off. But the replacements have been inept as well. It really has been moving the deck chairs of the Titanic. And we don't even get to see Kate Winslet's breasts as a consolation prize.

It is entirely possible that Sims is unable or unwilling to change. Yet Collins insists that he play every down.

ordinarily, it's the position coaches who decide playing time. But the HC can say it's time for X to go in for Y.

We drove down the field on our third or fourth possession. Inside the red zone, our TE fell down, our RB tripped on the turf, we threw a poor pass to our tall WR, then with five yards to go, decided to go for it and was sacked. Some can be on Sims but some is not.

Having said that, I do believe we need to make a change at QB if we can't get moving on offense by the second quarter.

I thought Long's game plan was very good against Clemson. Execution was average and yes our OL is inadequate. However, I rewatched the OM game and we provide running and passing lanes. We really could use a big a back who can get another yard running.

I’m not sure you can really judge Chip Long. It just looks to me like everyone including Sims especially his had it, and doesn’t want to play for Collins anymore.

Even if you have zero confidence in your starter, you say you have confidence in your starter. This is Head Coaching 101.

No, Coaching 101 is telling each player your backup is looking better and better. You're going to have to improve to hold onto your job. Hell, come to think of it, that is also Wife 101.

I get to say "I told you so" about a bad hire, so there's that. Also, this was a Brent Key hire and I have an axe to grind with his influence within the GTAA.

Key is a pos that should have never been allowed back on campus after trashing Tech and Tech degrees while at UCF.

We're only 3 games in. Imagine deciding cpj was trash after the 3rd game in 08. The new assistants haven't had time to be judged fairly. But Collins has been given way more time than needed, so their fate is sealed.

Results were chaos before Long, and they're chaos now. We all know where the chaos is emanating from. I'm doubtful it even matters who the OC is at this point.

The OC should be an upgrade from last year .
The QB coach should be an upgrade from last year.
The OL is young and given time could become better than last year.
The TE is inadequate at the P5 level.
The RB’s are good but none are special.
The QB is a good athlete but has yet to show the necessary growth, decision making, and leadership to be good enough for the P5 level.

A few things that run through my mind:
Clown said he spent his time on offense last year.
we scored zero points in the last eight quarters of that season.
Clown said he was going to spend more time with the defense this year.
It has allowed 83 points to two FBS teams in two games.
He also said we were going to be good on special teams when he took the job.
We have had three punts blocked this year. In three games.

He doesn't need to spend another single second with any unit of the team.
He needs to go.
Name an interim, start the search. let that guy bring in his own guys. Nobody on this staff deserves to stay past the last Saturday in November.
