Offensive stalling in the second half

check out the "Obtained"... 7 of them are Kickoff.. that means they scored 6 times on our defense and 5 of them were in a row.. not good

One of those 5 was because we threw a Pick 6.

And the defense was gassed because the offense couldn't stay on the field. Not sure why I keep having to say it but how the offense performs has an impact on how the defense performs.

oh i agree.. just saying they all sucked

They had more TOP because we couldn't keep our offense on the field. Are you choosing to ignore that, or do you just not understand how football works?
Horseshit. They should have NEVER gotten any of those multiple 3rd down conversions against us. We should have been getting the ball right back.

Now do our 3rd down conversions on Offense.

I realize you love being a douchebag, but you're not getting the point. If we ööööing punt to BG, BG should have been shut the öööö down, not allowed to go on a 6-7 minute drive each possession. It's difficult to get ANY semblance of offense when the other team is methodically ramming the ball down field on each possession.

LOL you are ignoring the point. And there's no chance of me holding a candle to you when it comes to being a douchebag, oh master.

No, I've made my point clear. The offense rolls of the defense does their ööööing jobs. Our offense needed the support of our defense in the second quarter and our defense looked like warmed over öööö. Under no circumstances should BG have owned our defense as easily as they did.

Maybe you just don't know how football is played, I don't know, but we needed our defense, especially when we could have flipped the field, to come through and pull their ööööing weight.

the saddest part is that we are getting our panties in a wad from bowling ööööing green

Honest question regarding the Offense --- were there any intermediate route passing plays to WR or TE against BG? I ask because those seem to be missed opportunities rather going for the HR deep ball. At some point the intermediate stuff has to be incorporated to open up the deep routes.
We have to make the opposing defense defend the entire field.

Blaylock had several

How exactly do you look at this drive chart and say it is the Defense’s problem? Punt, punt, fumble, punt, downs, Int.

The four punts IAR are problematic. I say four IAR because that fumble was the botched punt. Whatever that was intended to be, it went into the books as a fumble, but it was a screwed-up punt. That is the bad part. Every drive in the 2nd quarter ended in a punt.

In the first half, the O started very fast but somehow went to sleep in the second quarter.

In the 2nd half:
Possession 1, the O drove the ball 62 yards to the BG 14 and tried the 4th and 1 instead of kicking the easy FG. Good drive, screw-up at the end.
Possession 2, the O drove 19 yards and then King tosses the Pick-6. Decent initial movement, screw-up scuttled the drive.
Possession 3, the O drives 81 yards for the TD. Good drive.
Possession 4, the O drives 59 yards and throws an INT in the EZ. Good drive, screw-up at the end.
Possession 5, the O drives 65 yards for the TD. Good drive.

In the second half, the O moved the ball very well, but we just shot ourselves in the foot with mistakes.

Yes, the still O has a lot to work on. New system still and needs work. The 2nd quarter is part of a larger trend of the O taking entire quarters off. That is disturbing and has to stop. In the second half, however, I will say that when you are playing fast and tossing the ball all over the lot trying to catch up, mistakes often happen. Not an excuse, just a fact of life. Had the D made just 1-2 stops, this likely would not have happened.

It's difficult for the Defense to perform when they are on the field constantly because we don't have any semblance of an offense.

2 of 8 on 3rd down conversions. 5 of our 9 non-scoring drives were 5 plays or less. That's pathetic by any standard.

Like I said. We disagree. UGAg has had their offense sputter against teams and their defense kicks ass until the offense recovers. Defense wins ööööing ballgames.

The O has proven it can score fast, but it’s not yet good enough to do it on a consistent basis. Just 1-2 miscues during a possession seems to be insurmountable for them, resulting in a quick three and out. When the O can’t stay on the field, it just get worse for the D. The ineptness of the D might be putting added pressure on the O to score every time or to at least have extended drives to keep the worst part of the team off the field.
Our running game stinks. That’s why we lose TOP almost every game. We couldn’t even get 1 yard in 2 attempts vs BG. If you can’t get a yard against those guys then yeah…Haynes King’s arm is really your only hope of having an offense.

What? We won TOP against Louisville and Ole Miss, and were within 3 minutes of both SCSU and WFU. In fact, we almost doubled up Ole Miss in TOP.

IOW, we’re not losing TOP badly except for BGSU. Don’t make it worse than it is.
We lost TOP last Saturday because we 1) scored so fast in the first quarter and, 2) gave then the entire 2nd quarter - literally. In all other games we’ve either been ahead or virtually tied on TOP.

We can’t run it between the tackles at all. 69 yards rushing against BG was pretty shocking.

I think we won TOP against Louisville because we tried to protect the lead.

We don’t run well between the tackles at a matter of course. We are small in the backfield and our OL do not blow holes open up the middle. However, we run fairly well outside and off tackle.
Our issue against BG is they were scoring so fast we had to throw to catch up. We got WAY behind in TOP in the first quarter because we scores so fast, and the in second quarter because we kept misfiring.
