Apparently there’s a thread on the Rivals board saying that Philo will not play the rest of the season. Saving the ‘shirt?

Any RS player is allowed to play in bowl games. Does not count towards a RS year.
 
Well fine, I'll state the obvious:

Haynes King wants to come back and they think he can get healthy. He would win the starting job, so Philo wants to preserve his RS and transfer. Welcome to cfb in 2024.

Preserve his redshirt for what, to have an extra year in Athens? If this is true, then I’ll believe it’s driven by Philo and his handlers. If it turns out Tech’s staff decided this, if this is true, I instantly lose all respect, Batt can leave, and turn it all down because we deserve the half filled stadiums and half baked plans.

Is Rutherford healthy?
 
On the phone now. Apparently source for this are high school teammates of Philo’s who have talked to Philo during the week. It’s just hard to see Key playing these games if this is some form of 3D chess. I guess we’ll see. My respect for Tech as an institution hangs in the balance balance. This game has the potential to be program changing.

This post makes no sense. If King is healthy enough to play, then what exactly is your problem? Bowl games do not count towards eligibility, so the move by the staff is actually best for GT in 2025 and beyond.

I’ve been wondering about him since the injury. Based on his on field reaction, he’s d guess he’s out for some time, but I have t heard anything.

Oh if Haynes is good to go, then my comments are moot and not valid. I am posting my feeling in context of a still banged up Haynes King. HK is my guy. I want him to take 100% of the snaps if he’s himself. We win with a healthy King.
