This could be rumor from CBK’s presser earlier in the week where someone asked if Philo would redshirt this year, and Key’s quick response was “he will definitely redshirt…. Maybe”.

He did put a maybe at the end of his comment. Key is always sarcastic with the media. I think he was just being a dick

Brent tries too hard to be sarcastic and it comes off goofy most of the time. It’s his shticks, whatever. He did say what you just wrote, but he followed it up with he evaluates red shirts at the end or the season.

Sometimes it’s perfect when he gets dumb questions, other times he forces the sarcasm and needs to find more balance with his demeanor
 
If he or the team wanted to preserve the redshirt, sitting him last week should have been the game to do it. I get it, playing Philo last week gave King another week to basically avoid having to throw the ball downfield... but if you're Key, a Tech alum who hates UGA with a passion, it just makes no sense not to do everything possible to win this game.
 
If he is preserving a redshirt to transfer then everyone involved has their head up their ass
 
Best case scenario:

Pump Haynes King full of pain meds, turn him loose tonight, schedule a surgery for this weekend, and let him sit the bowl game.

He certainly wasn’t nearly healthy enough last week. Unless Corch is playing chess.

A mutt friend (more of an acquaintance, actually) messaged me about it in FB before I logged in here to check it out. If the fans know about the possibility of Philo not playing, then the mutt coaches and players do too. Key has them right where he wants them. Shades of 1984 when Dewberry beat the mutts in the cesspool???
